Well you're making the assumption that everyone who likes lesbians but not gay people also follows the teachings of Christianity.

So yes, you are flaming religion by associating it with stupidity.

All of my male friends approve of attractive lesbians, yes.

And recently the subject of Gay Marriage came up, I seem to be the only one in my circle of friends who supports it. One of them actually said 'Gay marriage is fine as long as its two chicks'.

I support gays of both genders, and any level of attractiveness though. I don't know what having my support means unless there's gonna be a poll in my state like California had, but you have it.

I have no problem with homosexuals. If you want to go and be gay then go ahead, you are still human and have every right to happiness.

But as a straight male i would rather watch two girls have sex then two guys. This is not because of selectiveness, but because I am attracted to females and not to men. And because of this heavy attraction one sexy female is nice, but two is better.

And as far as bi-sexuals go, I have never really known a tru bi-sexual. I have known some girls that say they are only to look cool and edgy and try it for a while, then to go back guys. And I have known ALOT of straight girls that would do something sexual with another women just as long as another guy was present, I don't think that makes them truly Bi.

It's just our society, if two girls were to get drunk at a party and make out everyone would think it was cool or not really care. If two guys did this it would be totally gay. That's just how the world is, maybe one day it will change.

Also, usually it's just a joke so take it easy.

A lot of people who hate gays aren't actually "homophobes" because homophobia means "fear of gayness". Some people just hate gay people period and fear isn't actually involved. These people usually hate both gays AND lesbians.

However, the type of guy who can't stand two guys kissing but thinks two girls kissing is the greatest thing ever, probably IS a homophobe in the most literal sense of the word. Homophobes can handle lesbians because that doesn't threaten them - they don't have to deal with the terrifying (to them) idea of having a guy trying to pick them up or whatever. Whereas gay guys really scare then because what if a gay guy finds THEM attractive? This ususally tweaks some inner gay recess of their brain that they're in severe denial about and just don't want to deal with.

I don't think people are completely straight or completely gay. I think that there's a sliding scale, with "completely straight" on one end and "completely gay" on the other end, and the extremely large majority of people actually fall somewhere in between, usually a little toward one end or the other, but I think there are definitely "degrees of straightness/gayness". A guy who is turned on by two girls kissing or has a lot of lesbian porn at home is definitely somewhere on the sliding scale.

This thread title got me excited then failed to deliver.

As to the subject yes I have seen it a lot. I don't understand why guys think Lesbians are hot...I get lesbo porn that is fantasy but actual lesbian chicks have zero interest in males so I fail to see the excitement in it. Though if I had a nickle for every teenage chick who claimed she was bi then I would be a rich man.

Personally I think both versions of Homosexuality are gross, but I have no qualms with Homosexuals. I just wish they would stop getting mad when I tell them the truth, that most "polar" cases of homosexuality (i.e. completely gay) are caused by brain malformations, wherein the gender in question will have a brain the shape of the opposite sex's.
Is that true?

Interesting. I can definitely see why it would make them mad though, its like you are telling them that they are defective because they are homosexual.

Don't worry. Gender double-standards, like marriage and religion, will be extinct in a couple hundred years.

Just think of homophobes as missing links. Their kind is slowly dying off, so you need not be concerned with their obsolete ways of thinking.

On the other hand, don't you dare attack good humor. Getting upset about things that were never intended to be taken seriously is every bit as bigoted, selfish, and hypocritical as the homophobia you attack. Being offended is no one's fault but your own.

No, because there is no reason to associate this idiotic behavior with religion in the first place.

Religion has no place in this thread.

Jesus Christ, you people will ***** about anything if it makes you feel intellectually superior. It's a Goddamn JOKE. A JOKE. They are not intending to state their position on homosexuality or gay marriage, they are MAKING A JOKE.

Hmmm...I'm not sure if I'm guilty of this. On the one hand, I fully support anyone's right to do just about anything they damn well please as long as they aren't hurting someone else. On the other, I can't watch porn that has guys in it. Don't know if those are equivalent, but it's enough to make me wonder.

Also, one may note that the Bible says "Thou shalt not lay with man as you lay with woman" or whatever so this is an attitude that was prevalent even back then (Or else, the Hebrews were not aware of lesbianism. Which makes no sense at all.).

I haven't really come into contact with this attitude. I personally am fine with any sexual preference. Although, I must admit that the prospect of competing with women for women is somewhat unsettling, because I know that I will fail in this situation.

This sort of behaviour is common in many other areas, but this one is particularly touchy and political at the moment. People joke about the Holocaust, and they'll joke about 9/11, in a similar fashion.

I guess I should just say my point, because I feel like I'm winding up for no reason. People are always going to be offended by statements. Now, I'm not condoning those silly, immature stickers or people who act like this; I'm offended by them, and I'm straight. It's just wrong to antagonize somebody for choosing to be a certain manner.

So no, it isn't justified in any way, but people will joke and tease all the same. Human nature, sadly.

You cannot have one without the other.
I'm a firm believer in that. You can't condone one while condemning the other.
Let me rephrase, you can, it just makes you an idiot.

Damn near every homophobe I've ever met has been like this. I once cussed my neighbour out of my house for it.

Still, I suppose this is a good thing. It's annoying as fuck, sure, but if enough idiots were focused on "HAWT LESBEANS", it's possible someone might be able to get gay marriage legalised.

Anything and everything in the Bible should be taken for what it is: A snapshot of the world as it was at the time.

Meaning, beliefs that existed thousands of years ago are not necessarily useful anymore. People in Biblical times believed homosexuality was wrong because at the time, humanity needed to punish behavior that endangered its own survival - hence religious homophobia. But now that humanity no longer requires everyone to produce offspring, homosexuality is no longer the danger it once was.

Since I'm usually honest on the internet, to a certain extent (especially on the Escapist), I'll be honest now. I do belong to that group of people who enjoys seeing lesbians simply for the sake of 'lesbian action', if you understand what I mean. Then again, I guess most guys my age do anyway. But at the same time, I have no problem with homosexuality in general. I'm 100% straight, although for a time I was slightly confused myself and I admit that for a very select few people I would possibly be willing to experiment. But in general, I'm open minded, and if my best friend was to come out tomorrow then I'd have no problem with it, as long as he/she didn't try coming onto me. As long as it doesn't change the person, 'gays' are just the same as 'straights' to me. Personality is what matters, that's all. Why should gay people have different rights and be treated differently just because they happen to be attracted to people different to the majority? It's just plain unfair and discriminatory, and for the record, as a victim of bullying for a long time I hate to see other people discriminated against, for any reason whatsoever.
