Hammerfall (This surprises me as I would think they're well known but no one I have talked to has heard of them)
Definitely well known
I certainly thought so but when I talk to people at school, no one has heard of them.
It's the same for me man, I love em while nobody in school has even heard of them, but they do seem to be well known. My choice, would have to be Falconer, don't seem very well known even in their home of Sweden.

One of the few, non-metal entries, I believe:

Marian Call
The Bedlam Bards
I FREAKING LOVE MARIAN CALL. Like, you don't even know. And she's the nicest person in the entire world (esp. online).

:D

As for me, I second Marian Call, and add:
J Roddy Walston and the Business
William Elliott Whitmore
Murder by Death
Kristina Morland
Chris Bathgate (less obscure)
Mark Kozelek (even less obscure)
Mustache! (yes, with an exclamation point)

I've listened to Amanda Palmer, and try as I might, I just don't care for her voice enough to keep listening. I mean, trust me, I've tried, on many occasions, and I just can't do it.

Jealous. I'm waiting for her next tour, since I missed her last trek through Texas.

I don't think you can legally say Bryan Adams is obscure... Or Jefferson Starship...

Trust me, there are Yanks that've never heard "Summer of '69" or "We Built This City".
Really? Huh... Growing up in the US Southwest, I heard those songs hundreds of times on local radio...
