The Eradicated (from Sydney, Australia if there's another band with that name)
I'd be surprised if anyone's heard of them as it's a band made by a couple of friends of mine.

Alestorm, pretty sure not many people on here will know them.
Ooh! I do!

Anyway, Karma Lingo. Itty bitty band over in Georgia. I guarantee almost no one will know it.

Probably Times New Viking, they're fairly obscure unless you're into low-fi indie.

Also: I'd wager nobody here has ever heard of Crass.
I have punk aint dead yet mate.

You're my favorite person ever.
Lol it's taken me this long to notice your Hideo Kojima avatar XD

But here are the crappy pictures to prove it. It was dark and we had to use a phone camera which had no flash haha

Half Man, Half Biscuit.
Ten kitkats and a motorin' atlas!
And a blue CD on the Hallmark label - that's sure to be good.

Perhaps 2-3 of these are stupidly obscure, although they have had albums on general release:

Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster; Micah P. Hinson; Joy Zipper; Flotation Toy Warning; Royal City.

Here's two that have some songs most people have probably heard, but very few people could name of the band: Yello; Grandaddy.

Rectal Smegma.

Look it up. It exists. I recommend the song: "eating the decaying cervix of a crack whore"
If I'm correct they do it ironically though? They just make songs with as much shit in them as a kind of parody.

Seriously, I don't even know how to categorize this band, other than awesome.
More popular, but still kind of obscure is They Might Be Giants. I'd be surprised if at least one person on here hadn't heard of them.

Corvus Corax
Glorystrokes
E2K
Whapweasel
Wheeler Street
Park Bench Social Club

Could list some more but there seem to be quite a few people who listen to folk who've probably already heard of them

Dude locked himself in his apartment for a year and re-invented jazz piano.
Amazing man.

Had an awesome hat.
Oh so true.

Didn't he also end up in a mental asylum?
I'm not sure about that one.
I think I heard something like that from one of my AS Music Tech teachers. May need some looking up, though.
