The books make True Blood better.la-le-lu-li-lo said:it definitely gets better.crypt-creature said:*shrug* I started to read one of her novels, but never finished it. I'm into authors like Charlaine Harris, P.N. Elrod, H.P. Lovecraft, etc. and generally have little interest in novels with a shapeshifter as the main character.la-le-lu-li-lo said:i like the mercedes thompson series.crypt-creature said:Big deal. Everyone on this forum is a nerd/geek in some way. Seeing 'who fits the stereotype for nerd/geekism more' is kind of silly.
I write and draw in my spare time.
I play D&D, Magic the gathering, and have created my own universe based off of the White Wolf publishings of the Werewolf series.
I have gone to cons.
Obviously, I like video games. Any type if it's interesting enough.
I play WoW.
I collect old comics and certain 80's toys.
I look up mythical creatures often. I find them interesting.
I also enjoy old armor (knights armor, samurai, etc) and would like to own a full suit plus weapon some day.
I'm a woman.
All these things just make me a person, I don't call myself anything outside of that. Except a loser, jokingly.![]()
The closest I come to reading a novel or book about a shapeshifter are the White Wolf clan books and so on.
and the only reason i don't read charlaine harris is because i don't want to spoil true blood! /:
laurel k. hamilton, kim harrison, & karen chance are more my flavor.
though lovecraft is always a delight.
bill gates said something similar.BoneCrusherBOB said:Is there a shame to being nerdy. I'm a massive nerd and that's not a reason to be ashamed. Nerd's will rule the world after high school.
different areas hurt different people, i agree.crypt-creature said:The series has been fairly good, even if a few things (rather minor) have been wrong. The show is entertaining, and good for being adapted from a book, but having read the books first I appreciate what they've done with the show even more.
It doesn't really spoil the series, more makes it a visual treat for a novel that has been so entertaining.
By the way, a tattoo on the foot is the worst. The ribs are cake, and it was rather enjoyable for me.
But everyone is different when it comes to pain tolerance.
I had about 4 hours on the ribs. The last 15 minutes got annoying, but that was expected since I knew the artist well. How many colors and the detail in the piece can make it more painful, though sometimes it really just comes down to the artist who is doing the tattoo.la-le-lu-li-lo said:different areas hurt different people, i agree.crypt-creature said:The series has been fairly good, even if a few things (rather minor) have been wrong. though time definitely has a component.
five hours on the same... freaking... area. no fun.
i liked the first three hours though.
and my true blood point... is at the rate i read, i'd be so damn far ahead of the show i'd be depressed. does skarsgard play a good eric, in relation to the book?
just curious because i adore his character.
Really? moreso than carrots!
Does it not say, in my misprinted copy of the Bible, "And the geek shall inherit the Earth"?BoneCrusherBOB said:Is there a shame to being nerdy. I'm a massive nerd and that's not a reason to be ashamed. Nerd's will rule the world after high school.
I beg you to stop perpetuating the completely ridiculous stereotype that Dungeons & Dragons is exclusively nerdy bullshit.Inarticulate_Underachiever said:I wear glasses, listen to Weezer and play Dungeons & Dragons.
