Yeah, I can just see the first 2-dimensional affair, divorce, and murder on the horizon.
Didn't that woman already get arrested for hacking Maple Story and killing her virtual husband who had divorced her? And didn't this too take place in Japan?

Call me grossly insensitive, but as when I'm asked to justify tentacle-rape hentai, I just say three words: two atomic bombs.

It's fantastic being a citizen of the country that sent another country into the insanity of Post-Apocalyptia. Gives me a warm, melty feeling all over.

This just further proves that, Japan must have some seriously powerful and easy to find crack.

That's crazy! I mean, how would he "live" with her? Plus, their relationship wouldn't go anywhere unless some writers and animators lived with him/them.

"Hullo darling, have a good breakfast?"

Cut -out says nothing.

"You're always so quiet these days!"

Either that or, "Hullo darling, have a good breakfast?"

Writers quickly scribble a respone, animators draw, then project the images onto the kitchen wall "Yes. Lovely."

"Darling, why does it always take you ten minutes to respond to anything I say?"

More frantic scribbling as the loop continues.
Well I suppose they could always program her personality into a computer. They've already done examples of people having conversations with computer programs and it's difficult for them to tell it's not human.

Not to mention they've also created a hand-held hologram projector that will soon be able to create moving images. Hell, maybe it'll be possible one day to program her personality into an android.... and then the world's population will drop like a stone.

Juvenile though it may be, I believe I have discovered the one instance where it may be appropriate:

That guy needs to get laid.

By a piece of paper it would seem.
Actually, I think they would use a doll for that.
*shudders*
I feel dirty just thinking about it.

They could mold the character into a doll. With that; men won't need women anymore! . . .
...
Yeah don't say you have never though about it.

Until the dolls become fully automated, there will always be a need for women.

You guys are so closed minded... I think that this love story will become a classic!

Guy watches anime... Guy falls in love with imaginary thing (hey some people like those half human half animal things) from anime... And the rest is history.

Also who says that his wife needs to come out to the 3-D world... Steamroller could send him into the 2-D world and they'd live happily ever after!

Altorin, it basically says that a man from Japan made an online petition to allow people to marry anime characters. And we all know online petitions work.

Only one question comes to my mind. How does he intend to get her to accept the marriage proposal? Ask the animators for permission?

I think I have some friends that might be very intrested in this...
So can 2 people marry the same character?
How DARE you look at Lina Inverse that way! She's MINE, we were married in Vegas, the whole gang was there, Xellos cried the whole time...

Yeah, I can just see the first 2-dimensional affair, divorce, and murder on the horizon.
Good thing there, you can murder them as many times as you like, they'll always come back next week. Or minute... Or whatever...

Ive heared some dumb shit in my life but this defenatly scores high. His gotta have a major malfunction, if its not a prank and he belives that this would ever work out.
But then again ive never understood the attraction of watching anime, mabye it does something to your head. Its gotta be, to seriously entertain that this is a good idea.
Even if he had his own cartoon show it would most likely involve White coats, a few doctors and some serious amounts of eletrocution...

But hey, atleast they wont produce offspring to further contaminate the human genepool whit their stupidity..

I've just been reminded of Yu-gi-oh: The Abridged series.

And will you, ocean, take Mako Tsunami as your lawfully wedded husband?

-long silence-

Mako Tsunami: The ocean says "Yes."

hmm, as i see it, since a aartoon in't real, or alive, then it has no rights. and so consent is not needed for the marriage.

it's a japanese cartoon right?

Will they sign a prenup?

Will he be able to sue her for half her value when she has sex with some awkward anime guy?

And do you think the church would be fine with this as long as it's a female character?

cause if he tries to marry a male character, he's going to hell.
