Burnout Paradise. I kept leaving due to the entire party being a bunch of colossal doofs, most seemingly unable to figure out which way was 'forward'. Every time I tried to rejoin a game, it dropped me back with them!

There's a reason I haven't renewed gold in over a year..
In Burnout Paradise there's always the guy that won't do the challenges and just wants to prevent the success everyone else. Hate that guy. And the person controlling the room that inexplicably wont kick the saboteur.

This happens to me a lot in TF2.

Remember that Sniper vs Spy update? Well, in a team of eleven people, eight were snipers.

EIGHT.

It only took two spies to down all of them, and I was getting owned trying to push the cart in Payload Race.

This is also another example of "Let's not worry about the cart, killing players WILL SURELY WIN the game!"

Have you ever been repeatedly placed on the team that's full of the most incompetent people on Earth? I am referring to online games, of course.

In WoW, this would be playing through an instance or raid with people you don't know, in Bf:BC2 or MW2, this would be like playing "Rush" or "Domination" and being forced to do all of the heavy lifting because everyone else is too busy caring about their K/D.

Maybe you're playing an online Co-op or team RTS game and you get paired with the guy who doesn't know how to build a barracks, much less build an army.

It's happened to all of us once before, but how and when did it happen to you?
Once had every guy on both sides of the game except me camping as snipers all in the same buildings on Wasteland. In that entire match I was the only one on my team to get kills. On the bright side, we one anyways, and I got my first quintuple knife! (when will group campers learn to point in different directions?)

I get especially mad when it is a team based game like Left for Dead or BBC2, because without cooperation you are doomed to fail. The squad system is a good idea but I think a lot of gamers don't know how to use it because there are a lot of 2 man squads, due to a squad being set to private if you invite a friend to said squad.

Sace phenomenon with Team Fortress 2, when one team has a run of bad luck, all the "pro" players (who don't like to lose) join the winning team or just leave. So without FREQUENT team-scramble you end up with hugely mismatched teams, often heavily outnumbered such as 18 to 16.

When you are on an incompetent team it doesn't matter how good you are, you can't get anything done, you see medics wandering around healing no-one, pyros running head on into heavies, you can't put a sentry up because idiots are constantly taking ammo because they are 3-rounds short of max-ammo. Plus no one will cover you or you will build a sentry and see another engie come along... do they help you build? NO they build another lvl 1 sentry DIRECTLY NEXT TO YOURS and then just endlessly hammer it even when they've got no metal left.

Grrr....arrghhh.... must not... RAGE... QUIT!!!!
Whats even worse about the engineer thing is when they keep taking YOUR metal out of YOUR dispenser that YOU built
I don't minds that so much as they are healing themselves and them being around my dispenser they are more likely to guard it. It's annoying for me but at least them feeding off my dispenser the team in general is better off, taking a 200-metal ammo-crate is just greedy,

If they had just let me get the ammo-crate then I could have built a DISPENSER ALREADY!!

but engineer non-cooperation. Look if you see an engie build a sentry YOU HAMMER ON IT WITH THEM! If you take metal from their dispenser, RE-INVEST it in their buildings. Remember, once they have everything at lvl 3 you are in the perfect position to use their dispenser as a launching off point for a forward sentry position.

It's TEAM fortress 2... not ME Fortress 2

Yeah, I get it a lot when i'm playing FIFA 10 playing Online Team Play, it seems most of my team-mates don't even know the X Button is for passing. Another example, the always stand like 3 miles offside and never get into a good position to pass to. But, Online Team Play is fun when you get a good team.

I must say that I tend to get rather bad teams when not with friends.

I mean, what's the point on trying to K/D whore when you can't even get it above one?

I have mixed feelings about this subject, because when the team sucks, fair game, but when people whine because the team are not following their bizarre semblances of tactics, that irritates me too.

What I really hate though, as it's been said before, is people who care more about what outside observers will see them as than having fun.

MW2 all the time, I get stuck on the losing team and I enter half way and then we lose and I've doubled the score by myself, or I capture the most points in a game but our team STILL loses because as soon as I capture the next point, we lose the point I JUST captured because my teammates are thick fuckwads...

This is the point I go to free for all and then get paired with the campers-r-us players until I say fuck it and go watch TV or a movie or masturbate or something that isn't as infuriating as dealing with fuck sticks

You've not experienced true online stupidity until you've played a game like DoTA (A warcraft 3 mod that started it all), Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends.

There are people who are new and unused to the games, because it's a very new genre to the mass market and that's fine. However, you also have people who can't do basic maths and run in like Rambo on valium into impossible odds instead of retreating like any sane person with two eyes and brain cells that don't live lives of perpetual isolation.

Well there's one born every minute, and judging by a lot of people's experiences with online gaming, a great deal of them were used as bowling balls at an young and cranially soft age.

Happens all the time in TF2.

I can usually spot this team early on based on what they're doing.
For example:
Engineer is busy building a level 3 teleporter instead of going to build a sentry to defend.
Engineer is building his sentry in a distant corner that has no strategic value, can be easily destroyed by a few explosions and will generally see very little traffic. And of course, he has his port there and 75% of the team is camping that corner with him.

Medic is running around shooting needles and generally getting owned while his teammates are dying painful, horrible deaths.

Soldiers are incapable of firing rockets while moving forward. Every time they fire a rocket, they take a step(or several steps) backwards.

The entire team runs away from or chases after 1 Scout, or a single Spy.

Nobody bothers standing on the point. There are no enemies around, we managed to push them back momentarily, but everyone is avoiding the point like they could catch something from it, nor are they making any effort to attack the heavy+medic combo sitting nearby building their uber. This usually ends with the entire team being mowed down by said combo and me being left alone to defend.

Nobody is making any effort to push forward. The entire team is camping.

There are 7 spies/snipers on a 12 player team and none of them has killed anything in the last 10 minutes.

Hate teams like that! What really gets in my nerves is when the whole team is camping as engineers at the flag. Whats worse is if they are horrible engineers.

This has happened to me a couple of times playing all of these online games from "StarCraft" to "Counter-strike" and "Modern Warfare 2". It sucks to die, and to lose, but the key is to have fun. I've been placed beside, let's go out on a limb and say; poor players, but this only gives me the oppertunity to shine. Players, at least in FPS, gets more couragious to see a fearless captain stepping forward and leading the way.

I remember when I started playing StarCraft when it was new. I sucked online because it was my first encounter with online gaming, and I was unaware of rushing-tactics and different strategies.

There is another thing which is worse: when players are totally unserious and ruins the game for you. Suddenly turning on you, stealing your resources, killing your units, standing in the way and just acting like a fool.

BTW: Eggsnham, what is your avatar? It's funny.
My avatar is from a comedy short called "Italian Spiderman". It's pretty hilarious.

I've had a few memorable experiences.

WoW: Actually, just last night, I had a random dungeon team who couldn't seem to do their roles. The tank had a two-hander and couldn't hold aggro. The other rogue wasn't dual wielding and doing about 21 DPS at level 20. The Warlock was using a sword and hitting stuff with it(As badass as that is, it just isn't useful) and they needed on everything they could. It wasn't too bad, though, considering they allowed me to have a set piece I was waiting for.

MAG: I do like Massive Action Game and as far as team quality goes, I don't mind losing, even if it is a major defeat. When playing FPS games online, my "It's just a game" instinct kicks in. I judge the team by how many pricks are ridiculing everyone for sucking while neatly ignoring their own score. One guy was so bad that I plugged in my headset just to tell him to cool down to hear him rage.

And rage he did because everyone else burst into laughter on our squad.
