Guard or construction worker.
Guard mainly since I think I got the right build for it. Tall as fuck and naturally strong. Haven't worked out the least in probably three years and I still got some muscle. Construction worker might be a bit more difficult. Don't have any experience, but it's something that intrests me.

... Screw it, I'll be the janitor.

I have experience with cooking so I could help you there, OP.
I work as a delivery driver, so unless there's cars that can still run, that's out the window...
I mostly want to entertain, so I could try and help maintain art and creativity. Unfortunately video (my medium of choice) would most likely not work, so I'd stick with theater.

I am a scientist. Bring me your problems and I shall solve them =)

On a less egoistic note, I am a scientist who has had to do academic research on a tight budget - so I'd like to be the MacGyver/Samantha Carter of this new world if I could =)

I've always been unemployed except every so often when I helped out with a waitering service at parties, when I would just volunteer, and they would give me £30.

So, unless there is copious amounts of alcohol, I guess I'll be dinner.

Well, I'm a mixed martial arts fighter and while I may be a comp science major, I'm still a good engineer, so there's that.
I'd say I'm quite useful.

I'm unemployed and my only skills are artistic ones and other equally disaster-useless talents. I wouldn't even make a very good meat-shield! So, I'd probably just be one of the many casualties of the disaster. Survivors, you can just step over my body there, please forgive the smell.

While not employed at the moment, after the apocalypse my previous job experience would make me a great courier. *Cocks laser rifle*

Only escapists? We're doomed, no women. We could all be special forces engineers with a PHD in medicine and still go extinct anyway. Just a matter of how long...

Pretty straight forwards.
But for the sake of entertainment i'll add some context.
The entire World has collasped, government no longer applicable in the world, mainstream society has come to a halt. But in a very very odd considence every single member of the escaptist has survived and found themselves together. The world is empty and we are the only ones left.
What career are you taking up to help our new society and how will it help us collectively.
Teacher, writer, artist - I will bring beauty to our new society. And I will ensure that the English language lives on, grammar perfect. In our new-built Utopia, everyone WILL use the Oxford Comma!

I work at the duty free in an airport, so I guess I could be a shopkeeper. I could give quests to brave young wanderers to fetch me x amount of y.

I've worked as a cashier in a gas station, in the seediest part of town, I've also worked as a cook, and as a janitor... and as a computer tech. though that last one is likely less useful than the others, as computers are useless without power, and with society collapsing in such a way power substations and generators are generally screwed. I can cook, I can handle dangerous people both diplomatically and otherwise, and I can clean things good?

otherwise I go camping as often as I can, and know how to start fires and find edible stuff in the wild.

Well, I have first aid training, and other stuff I've taken that are technically work related, but not from work specifically. Also have a hobby or two involving weapon handling, I am accurate with a rifle, and I can use a knife if I need to... And although people here apparently tend not to like the Idea that anyone can study a martial art, as I tend to be called a liar a lot over it... Escrima is FUN, so is Karate(sometimes, mainly sparring with people)... so when it comes down to it I am far from defenseless against my fellow man or most wildlife...

Being a senior in highschool, the only job I've held onto for over a year was in a food processing plant.

I can manufacture sausage.....

I would have some minor first aid skills with most of my knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and operating X-ray machines. So maybe some kind of Radiologist for when people bust themselves up a little bit? Or maybe some kind of diplomat to solve any quarrels amongst ourselves.

Spent a few years with the scouts, got some experience with firearms, I've sat at least one first-aid course.

I guess I'll just tag along with any venturing types who need to get supplies or clean up local molerat infestations.
