Gabriel's somewhat high spirits fell as Fei called out to him and skipped over. He wasn't sure he wanted to deal with her one-on-one, especially after the night before when he had made a fool of himself in front of the others. If Fei and Drew hadn't known about his social problem, they would at least be suspicious of something by now, he reasoned. He had to do something to try to get over it... but there was a more pressing matter at present, in the form of Gabriel's fellow Hydromancer.
So Fei wanted to learn to work with ice... that was something Gabe had yet to delve into himself. Ice manipulation was in the more advanced section of one of the textbooks Gabe had brought with him: he hadn't planned on trying any of it, since he was still struggling to control even plain, simple water for extended periods of time.
It took Gabriel a moment to respond to Fei; speaking to her, of course, was out of the question. He simply shook his head in answer to her question. Not for the first time he mentally kicked himself for his impediment: an explanation would have been much better than a simple 'no'.
