Today pop culture weeps. Ferrah Fawcet loses her fight with cancer, and Michael Jackson dies of cardiac arrest.

First David Carradine earlier this month, now these two. Bloody hell. June 2009 is a bad month for older entertainers. >.<

How does one fight cancer? Organise yourself on the cellular level and deploy the troops? Life is frequently awful and tragic, why do we have to dress things up or outright lie to make ourselves feel better? Mundus vult decipi, that is why.

As for Michael Jackson dying, let's think about this. Yesterday a great deal of people on this forum would say pop is shit, prior to the news of Jackson. So what is the importance of a King of shit dying?

Enjoy the mourning sickness, as everyone acts sympathetic and commiserates about the loss of Jackson. It will be the American version of the Brit's Diana, or the sympathy around Steve Irwin. I will not be turning a T.V on for days.

How does one even make the connection in between over 3,000 innocent civilians being murdered and an old, washed-up perverted pop star's death?

Please, explain your reasoning.

If you're so obsessed with pop culture that you compare the death of one man to some of the most devastating events in history, then you obviously have some serious issues.
Because I have a reason to care about Michael Jackson's death, but not the two-thousand nine-hundred something jack-offs that died in 911? See, I can be an asshole too.

And 911 was one of the most devastating events in history? Please. 3000 people is nothing. Try the Crusades or the Holocaust or the latest Iraq War for the more popular examples, or any of the other examples of slaughter and genocide throughout history.

You won't be turning on a T.V. for days, but you'll be posting away in threads you supposedly don't care about. If what you say is true... then fuck off already, hm?
