So, I've just recently got myself a PC that can actually play games and now I'm left wondering what to buy.
I'm completley new to PC gaming but I want to give it a good try. I enjoy most genres, but I'm looking for longevity in any game I buy, so that's either an ability to play online, or an infintely changing campaign.
I have £50($70) to spend and I want to get 3 games, or there abouts.
So what you reccomend? What are the staples of any PC gamers library?
So far I've heard good things about CS:S, COD:4 and Starcraft 2.
I already have Rome and Empire Total War.
One thing you should know about Steam is that technically any games you purchase from there service is not ACTUALLY owned by you. This means Steam can and sometimes will delete your entire library for their own reasons. This has happened to me and a few friends. Two ways to avoid this: 1: you can use another downloading service (in American, we have Amazon and Direct2Drive that are great); 2: if you get something that says "Print this as proof of purchase" or something related to that, PRINT IT AND KEEP IT so you know should this ever happen to you.
In my case, I only use steam when it's a game on sale or a game I can't get anywhere else, because as I said, Steam ripped me off about $270... none of which I could get back because I didn't have proof of purchase.
