Actually, I disliked Avatar. HA! Your argument means nothing now! TO JAIL WITH YOU!
Well I havn't pirated Avatar yet actually im not sure I am not sure if I will yet I am asking the internet what I should something that I think I will regret.
I'm not sure how you imagine people are going to catch you anyway. Seriously, if you can't handle that what you are doing is STEALING and no way around that, then you shouldn't do it. Just because it's justified doesn't change what it is.

I think the whole idea of calling it 'piracy' rather than stealing is silly anyway, it just seems people are more willing to do it under a different label.

Okay so this comes with a story.
The other day I went to see James Camerons Avatar I paid my 10$ and started watching it was good times until about 3/4 of the way through the movie it cuts out screen goes blank after a 15 minute wait the manager comes in and informs us the audience that the film snapped in two and we would not get to see the end of the movie to which I replied " Son of B!@#%" because if you have seen Avatar you will know that it is pretty good. Any way normally I don't approve of piracy except for old games I already owned but cannot find like the original Unreal, But when this happened I seriously considered pirating Avatar I mean come on I paid to see it and know if I want to see the end I would have to sit through the 2 hours I already saw. So my question is do you think I would be moral justified if I pirated Avatar yes or no. Also I would like to hear any stories similar to mind which made you think you should pirate something.
Forgive me for being a little skeptical, but I have a hard time believing you didn't get a refund or a free ticket or anything. The place must have been packed for that movie, and they would have had to deal with all those people being pissed off. Why didn't you demand compensation? If you did, what was their response?

And it's illegal to pirate it, dude. It doesn't matter if you got stiffed.

That's fair, you already payed to watch the movie. As a matter of fact, you should complain to the theater's management, because they should have not only given you and the other viewers a rain check, but they should have given you something to compensate for the inconvenience such as a free concession or something of the sort.

Off topic....anything pirated from Microsoft is justified.

It wouldn't even be worth it to pirate because you really have to see this in theaters or at least on full 1080p bluray which is like 14 gigs.

Let me get this straight...

You want to pirate a cutting edge 3D movie filmed on a 3 year old camcorder in a 50 year theatre in the former People's Republic of Fucktupistan?

You'd be better off just going and seeing it again than ruining the ending by watching it under such horrible conditions.
I mean, even a pirate has to draw the line somewhere...

No. Piracy is not justified that's why it's called piracy and not something else. Also, your sentences run on a bit too long.

I'm a "try before you buy" kind of girl. I wait 3 days for a complete scan of a comic book to end up on a torrent & download it. If I like the issue, I buy it. It's a policy I've picked up after I bought some of the "Legends of the Dark Knight" issues & decided that I hated a lot of the stories.

I want this...yet I don't want to pay for it...so I will pirate it for free.
How is that reasoning not justifiable? It may be illegal, but it amke perfect sense to the one doing it.

Piracy is as justified as you want it to be.

Personally, I don't give a shit. I dabble in piracy alot with music. Being able to hear it before you buy it is great.

I think its justified to ask for a refund, or at least for them to pay for you to see it again or something.[footnote]because I can't imagine seeing that again on anything but a theater or a GIANT blu-ray equipped TV... because it just wouldnt do it justice[/footnote]

Seems like a lot less hassle. And if youre worried about the whole legality thing, demanding compensation from a business is legal. If anything- its good

Its ok in my opinion if you'd never ever pay for it any way. that way they cant say they are losing sales

Am I the only person here who pirates music and watches pirated movies every now and then, yet feels absolutely no guilt for it what so ever? I don't even feel like I'm doing anything wrong.

Piracy is only justifiable if you cannot currently buy that which you are pirateing, if it becomes available and you have a pirated copy You must buy it
You can find nearly anything ever made ever on Ebay.

So piracy is never justifiable?
yeah.

Frankly, the BIG corporation is bad for a capitalist society so when you pirate from them, don't feel bad, but when you pirate from a small business, you are hurting the best thing for a capitalist society, and that's just wrong. It's the difference from taking money from a middle-class man and taking it from j.p.morgan.
