Because I plan to one day be responsible for the well-being of thousands of people?
Other than that, I got nothing.

Are you from the southern half of America? The whole bad grammar and thinking that America is turning socialist kind of makes me think that.

Interesting... well, I'll give it a shot, Mr. Robot.

I'm going to be an officer in the army of the United States, a first-world nation that genuinely tries to use its might for the betterment of less fortunate peoples and nations. I will be the implement that my government uses to provide aid and defense for those who cannot get it for themselves.

Beyond that, I intend to use the rest of my life accomplishing and experriencing as much as possible, making as much of a difference as I can. These are, in my mind, the purpose of life: for the world to miss you when you die.

However, even without these, I am a son, brother, cousin to several people. I'd like to think i was pretty good at that; what makes you think my replacement would be any better?

I could continue, but I think I'm safe by now.

I do not need to justify myself, for I simply am. But... if I had to say something, it would be that there are a handful of people who see my being around as a positive thing, and that they would be sad if I was to be gone. I guess I can justify my existence in that I affect all of those that I come into contact with, and some are very deeply affected.

I improve moral. Everyone can just look at my life and say "Wow! At least I'm not that guy."
It's not "moral", it's "morale".

Well, at least I feel better about my English language skills. Thanks, guy!

OT: Well, this thread isn't going to comment itself.

That isn't enough? Fine, I justify myself by introducing you to RubberFruit

Because, and I quote the robot here "Because I have the power to snap your body in two like a dry reed!"

Amazing show, really amazing.

I don't know how I could justify my existence. I guess, no, I hope people would miss me if I'm gone. I like to help, make people laugh, listen to their problems but I don't think that makes me more deserving than the next guy. Also I can be complete smeeeeee heeeeee sometimes :p

I remember hearing of that episode! I haven't seen it yet, but I plan to if it happens to be on.

Now, let's see...

"As a young and intelligent being, I have the potential to earn my place in the world one day."

(Or, since I'm being judged by - effectively - myself...)

"You won't delete me, you piece of shit. You don't have the balls."

A little backstory on this first. After watching an old British Sci-fi comdedy called Red Dwarf, there is one episode where a robot makes people justify their existence and if they can't deletes them from time and space and replaces them with another life, one of the sperms that didn't make it to the egg(so to speak).
I actually love you. When I read the thread title, I was instantly reminded of 'The Inquisitor'. It's made me ridiculously happy to learn that my instinct was actually right, and that someone else is aware of Red Dwarf's existence. -Delighted squeal- <3

OT: As others have said before me, I'd be in the same boat as Rimmer. I am remarkably harsh on myself, and as such, it'd be no easy feat to convince myself I deserve to live over anyone else. One thing I could say in my own defence is that I have a good heart, a strong sense of justice, and an open mind. I'm slowly working towards entering into a career in the Public Services, where I'll be hunting down criminals and bringing them to justice - not entirely unlike the work of The Inquisitor. That's gotta count for something, right?
