Even though I don't listen to ambience daily, I still like listening to it whenever I stumble upon it, and this song was...surprisingly good, considering he got it by slowing down a Justin Bieber song (although I think U Smile is far better than his other songs, but still).

Please, shoot yourself.

What's the point of using this meme (or memes at all) at times when they don't fit at all? What the fuck does you being 12 years old matter, when discussing Justin Bieber's "U Smile" slowed down 800%?

Seriously, fuck. That's used when something pornographic or excessively gory is shown (which doesn't happen here), something that a 12-year-old (or anyone near that age, stretching out to infancy) isn't supposed to see. So please, don't ever say something that stupid again.

How can you slow his voice down by 800% and it still be so high.
Haha that made me laugh.

OT: Still listening, I'm not having the orgasms that other people here are, but it's pretty good. Sounds like the ocean with some sirens. I guess I have to hari-kari myself for listening to a Justin Beaver song now. Bye.

Am I the only one who doesn't like this?

I don't find it "good" by any stretch of the imagination. It sounds weird, yes, but so do all songs when you slow them down 800%. Like EVE's soundtrack minus the creativeness.

What's really amazing about it is how many people believe it's really Justin Bieber slowed down. It's obviously not (I'm an audio engineer so I'm qualified to tell you this). I got to hand it to whoever wrote the song though - riding off the back of someone else's fame sure is a clever marketing gimmick to get people to listen to your stuff. It's good to see that The Escapist a.k.a. The Great Justin Bieber Free Advertising Machine can actually be used, via threads like this, to promote other artists too.
I will admit that I'm disappointed it isn't a Justin Beiber song slowed down. I don't really hate Justin, but the idea of a song being slowed down 800% to make a very good ambient song is a very nice one.

I still say Vangelis tops this :p
The Greek? As in Jon and Vangelis? The friends of Mr. Cairo? Couldn't agree more.

OT: Wow. You got me to listen to Beeb. I hope you're proud.

It's beautiful *sniff*
The opening minute reminds me off the music in Heroes when one of the characters is narrating an important speech. This is awesome

Pretty cool. People should try slowing down down other stuff this much and see if it's any good.

Actually quite cool, kind of reminds me of the Bad Lieutenant soundtrack crossed with Avatar.

I wonder if this works with more pop songs, if you slow Miley Cyrus to this speed will the same thing happen?

It's good, but it's honestly hard to bring myself to say I like it. Just because it's J Biebz.

Had to join just to say: Sorry haters, this sounds pretty legit.
To the people complaining about the track length, it's slowed down 16x. I can't be arsed to crunch that into percentages, but 16x stretch makes the same 36 minute song that is on soundcloud.

If you download paulstretch (http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/), download u smile (http://www.mediafire.com/?nnymymazten), and put one into the other and slow down by 16x, it's nigh-on identical to the soundcloud one, at least at the beginning. I don't have the programs or the know-how to run any kind of difference filter on the two things but they sound close enough.

Also a friend found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qica4VQZHnA&feature=player_embedded#).... not sure how much can be accounted to loss in quality during the process but it's close enough to convince me.
