ive heard much better ambient music. and reading you guys argue over whether this is the actually track slowed down or altered has been a good waste of 5 minutes.

I... Didn't like it still. It was too long and I was just waiting for something to happen, and when it did happen, it was a big turn off (What with the high voice and all). Wether or not this is really Justin Beiber, it still is terrible. I don't get what everyone see's in it.

Y does he still sound like a girl? Slowing down the sound will increase the amplitude but does not decrease the frequency of the sound. Like how waves on the ocean work. The number of waves remain the same in open ocean as it does when it hits the beach, but because it slowed down the wave height increases as it crashes to shore.

This isnt slowed 800% as it is stretched to 800% its length in frequency (keeping its amplitude the same). I would presume any song can be made to sound like if stretched.

Wow.....Justin Bieber just became bearable. More than that, He became one of the most relaxing "singers" I've ever heard...

Still hate his his normal voice though.

I am very very surprised at how good that sounds. I wish I could download it but I do believe the download limit on the site has been reached. Damn.

Still, at least that means I wouldn't have justin bieber on my ipod, I suppose that some sort of relief.

What's really amazing about it is how many people believe it's really Justin Bieber slowed down. It's obviously not (I'm an audio engineer so I'm qualified to tell you this). I got to hand it to whoever wrote the song though - riding off the back of someone else's fame sure is a clever marketing gimmick to get people to listen to your stuff. It's good to see that The Escapist a.k.a. The Great Justin Bieber Free Advertising Machine can actually be used, via threads like this, to promote other artists too.
I'm not a sound tech, but I do know enough about sound to notice the same. I wouldn't be surprised if they used the base song as a jumping point, and perhaps even used Justin Bieber's voice slowed down over the re-done sound, but it's fairly obvious that it's not actually the song slowed way, way down. There's too much that just sounds slow, not drawn out (if that makes sense).

Well, it kind of is. The guy has time-stretched it using some really shitty software, then chooped out the drums and some other elements that didn't fit in, then added a ton of reverb to smooth out the gaps.

AHH!!! EARGASM!

He's secretly a genius? Or just lucky?

This is giving me chills....
Only a genius if all his songs are like this. And if so I regret what ever said about him. But not his fans.

OT: This song reminds me a lot of sunshine's theme.

I cried. It sounds like waves. Totally breathtaking.
I know, it's like everything was right with the world. I closed my eyes and had an epiphany, and *I* cried when I opened them again and realised what it was that was so beautiful in the first place.
Also, I am so getting stoned to this.
