I have to say I'm more impressed than disgusted, then again I've never cared about hunting unless they were killing animal that were endangered or in some other way off limits to hunters, unless she was arrested, which it doesn't appear she was, I really am just in awe of how amazing that shot must have been.

Alright it's legal, alright it's a rather impressive feat, alright there is a problem if there is an overpopulation of elephants.

Whats not alright is that she killed it over a simple wager! Also the fact that she didn't have the guts to go near the thing until she had let it bleed out for a night.

I second the thought of her being crushed by a heard of elephants. And anyone who kills an animal for sport is a complete ****tard in my books, especially an animal as awesome as an elephant.

This really angered me, and thats something for someone that normally doesn't care too much about animals. But thats disgusting. She should have at least finished it off instead of prolonging its suffering by letting it die over night. She doesn't deserve any kind of coverage, she deserves to have that done to her. And she did the whole thing for a bet, she is just an awful person. I mean she killed an animal belonging to a race dying out, just because someone "bet her I couldn't shoot a buffalo or elephant with a bow.".

Technically all of existence exists solely for our own amusement. The only difference is degrees of ease of making it amuse us.

African elephants are not endangered. Matter of fact, unless it's changed in the last year, there's too many of the bloody things.

I don't see why people think it so offended over this, like she has committed some crime against the animal kingdom as a whole. When you hunt deer with a bow it dosn't always die within a few minuets, if you get a gut-shot on the animal it takes hours before you can safely approach it (they'v been known to look compleatly dead, but jump up as soon as you get near them). It only makes sense to wait to overnight before getting near it.

And I assume that you would have the balls to go near it, without waiting to make sure it was dead?

Edit: This assumes the corpse will be used for something. Leaving it there afterwards is a bit retarded and a rather large waste.

Usually the hunter will take the ivory (Tusks) and the hair off of it's tail (or anything else he/she wants to take), then leave the meat for the locals. Usually nothing gets waisted.
