You do realize that non-compound bows would NEVER be able to pierce elephant hide right? You could have the tip of the arrow pointing straight at its heart at point blank range, and all you'd do is get trampled.guardian001 said:

If I remember the anatomy of elephants correctly, there's something like 2-3 inches of hide before you get to even the muscle. You simply can't pierce something like that with a bow from any sort of large distance.
It doesnt. Its just that the woman left the animal to suffer, and she just decided to kill it because she wanted to. And she enjoyed just killing it, not hunting it because she needed to to survive, and probably not because she liked elephant meat in particular. Just go up and shoot the damned thing and put it out of its misery at least. That wasn't a hunt, that was a hit and run and come back later. A hunt would have been pursuing the thing.

I've got no faith left to loose. For all those saying how is it different to say a deer or whatever, it's very different because she is killing it only for sport, even worse to settle a bet. This means that the carcass probably won't be used for anything other than a mere trophy, oh and chances are it was probably endangered.
