Having sex regularly?
Maybe if I sort out this conundrum that sport will take over? I don't have a girlfriend right now and all the girls in glasgow are made of fail!

I myself do press-ups and go for three walks a day.
Although I'm not interested in getting fit so much as I am in losing weight.
The getting fit part is just collateral damage.

However, I'm actually doing a fuck load of damage to myself with all this healthy person exercise.
I have ME/CFS, you see. But even pushing it as I am, I don't seem to be losing any weight whatsoever.
It is frustrating like you wouldn't believe.

I've never found it hard to be fit and a gamer.

I play a lot of sports and do a lot of physical work. I know that I am very fortunate for having these 'fit outlets'.

lol I blame our schools - our p.e. in school was football(soccer) every week I never really learned any other sports.

Our school pitches were red ash fulled with broken glass.

I really blame me - I have too many qualms and I love soda way too much - in fact if mountain dew was sold in glasgow (not for £1.50 a can) My position would probably be much worse!

Your favourite martial art. I recommend Judo, 'cause that's what I do. Also, because Judo is a sport, you can actually find reputable instructors in most places and compete. Going to martial arts is one of the best workouts you can find. Plus, you'll learn how to throw someone. Always entertaining.

@Jirlond are you a fan of first person shooters? Try organizing airsoft or paintball matches with you and your friends. It's a really fun way to stay fit, probably my favorite. I also love gardening. I know it's the middle of winter right now but this spring I dare you to start a vegetable garden. Not only is it hard work, but it pays off in produce--which is also good for you, so it's a win-win.

Another thing: if you're consuming a lot of pop, that could be the culprit.
You can be on the best diet doing the best exercises and still not lose weight if you drink soda :(

We went paintballing once - loved it! but more than half of the other team wore armour! if theres no pain where is the fun!

Thats not a bad idea - but getting that many people together on a regular basis might be hard.

Might give the veggie garden a try in spring. I always wanted to grow my own stuff!

Going to a football match in Glasgow is a bit too much of a workout. All the sectarian rioting and all that.
Lies and trickery, we only do that in europe now so we look like tough scotsman abroad:p

I absolutely despise the gym, I went for a year and it worked - it just bored me to tears!
I take it you probably did machine-work and/or bodybuilding split-routines? I suggest trying the gym again but take a more strength-focused aproach (I recommend www.stronglifts.com or www.startingstrength.com to start) Also, if you don't like the gym but want to be ion better shape, I could suggest www.beastskills.com is a site with good information on bodyweight exercises. Some of those things make you feel like a badass (handstand pushup anyone? )

Apart from that: martial arts is always fun and the workouts are damn though. And it makes you feel like a badass too.

Actually perhaps looking up how housewives are advised to stay in shape might help. The exercises are often easy to do and involve using common object that already exist in your house for exercise. Of course running laps, riding a bike and sit up/push-ups/etc do the job as well.

Here's what I do to mix it up and stay moderately in shape:

1.) Walking with my iPod/Zune
2.) Hitting the punching bag.
3.) Airsoft/Paintball (not so much anymore, most places to play have been fenced)
4.) Hiking
5.) Hunting
6.) Working on my SUV (needs some repairs)
7.) Manual labor for my family, who own a nursery (moved 2 tons worth of concrete last week with a rented truck - had to move it by hand to the damn thing after breaking it up with a sledge hammer; took 3 days)

Otherwise, I sit on my ass, play games, and attend college courses full time, and hate gyms, so I feel your pain man.

Well, my dad went there and he said when he came out the stadium there was a woman on the floor and a policeman didn't even look twice, and other people I know who were watching the screen said when it went out the police started to close in, so then some drunken idiots(and people who weren't even rangers fans just there for the sake of it) started the riot.

I'm dissapointed that they did that, although I wonder what would of happend if they didn't close in on the crowd.

What about refereeing?

It requires a fairly high level of concentration so you won't get bored.

You'll get abused. But no worse than Xbox Live.

You'll get paid

And you'll get to keep fit.
