Each to his own. They're both adults, and if they both want a relationship that's entirely their business. I just hope the guy isn't doing it because he feels (or is) forced into it because of that child thing. Abortion is always an option, and both parents should have an equal say in it, or he can just pay child support and fulfill his obligations that way.

'Love knows no bounds' or something like that. But seriously, 24 years difference? She's more than one person old enough to drink older than him.

Ah who cares about the fact that A married B, and B was older than A. It happens all the time - older men routinely marry younger women and apparently that's fine. But if someone else does it the other way, then oooooooh suddenly it's something to make a big fuss about.

And don't hate celebrities. They don't earn one cent over what the public is willing to spend on them.

Wow, reading these comments totally reaffirms my faith in humanity. Particularly the ones that chastise Aaron Johnson for not hooking up with a 20-something hottie. Maybe he's just not as shallow as some of you guys?

Ralph Fiennes and Francesca Annis were together for 11 years, despite her being 18 years older than him. Maxwell Caulfield and Juliet Mills have been together for 30 years. Just a couple of examples off the top of my head.

when i saw him on a chat show i was like "have they booked the wrong guy or something??""

He seemed a bit of a dick to be honest and then the host asked about his soon to be born kid and 43 year old fiancee....

This guy is the same age as me and he's with a woman the same age as a lot of my friends mums, but fair play to him i guess i'll go along with the general consensus of WTF but what ever makes you happy and all.

With that said i'd like to see the reaction if the actress playing Kick Ass's girlfriend in the movie was with a 43 year old man, i doubt it would be so "live and let live"

also, celeb relationships, and people considering what the effects will be in 20 years time.

Lol.

I'll be amazed if they're together next year even, but, aside from that, I'll wish em the best, and it's a good thing he's not just blindly choosing some teen bint.

Besides, male and female sexual peaks, they're a fine match in that respect.

I don't get it either. Maybe we should Twitter and ask Ashton Kutcher for an opinion?

ROFL

Or.... Nope, still not getting it.

For those not up on the art world, Sam Taylor-Wood is most famous as a modern artist of some decent success and frequent critical derision.

* * *

I would suggest that were the age of the two reversed, no-one would have bothered starting a thread on it. It's still something of a social upset for a man to marry a considerably older woman in a way a man marrying a considerably younger woman is not.

People who are all "WTF OMG BUT SHES OLD" about this sort of thing are, in my opinion, kind of fucking stupid.
My mum is with a dude in his early twenties. She is in her mid fourties.
This does not seem strange to me at all. And why would it?
Age is just an arbitrary number. If two people are into each other, who gives a fuck about the age difference?

Unless, of course, we are talking like thirty year old dudes and kids in their mid teens. Then things start getting creepy.
But not 30 year old women and guys in their mid teens?

Age is not arbitrary, it has proper meaning. It is not up to opinion wether someone is 50. they either are or aren't. There is an objective distinction that there is a large gap here relative to the norm. As such is not a typical relationship and thus should not be hard to understand the shock it can cause.
Uh. No.
It is creepy if any party is underage.
Don't try to pin that gender shit on me. I hate double-standards as much as the next dude.

Ever heard the term "you are as young as you feel"? It's kinda true.
But yes, I guess I could understand that some people would be shocked. People are idiots. Fucking everything shocks them.

[sub][sub][sub]If any of this offends you, bare in mind I am very, very hungover.[/sub][/sub][/sub]

Now I'm not saying that this is right or wrong, but a thought occurs:
Funny how this has you all in an uproar, and yet when Woody Allen marries a woman 35 years younger than him, nobody bats an eye...
You mean that thing that happened 13 years ago? Yeah, I wonder why people aren't still in an uproar about that....
It's just one of many, many examples. Why is it that women marrying very younger men is so much more horrid than the reverse (older men marrying younger women)? When that happens, all anyone ever says is, "oh good for him, he still has the stamina to handle that hot, young model". Just sayin'.
I don't know who the hell says that - if I see a man marrying a girl 35 years younger than him, I'm going to think that's just as creepy as a woman doing the same thing. There's absoloutely nothing sexist about this concept - it's creepy when it happens in both situations. It just so happens that, historically speaking, its more common for older men to marry significantly younger women.
