Wow, didn't even know such Lego pieces existed.
I gotta get me one of those...
Erm...
Oh yeah, OT, stupid principal.

Zero Tolerance or Zero Intelligence?
Both?

Anyway, that school has a very low tolerance of plastic toys or anything else that they could use to pretend to kill someone.
[sub](in MY school you wouldn't get suspended for fighting!)[/sub]

Shit. People get in trouble for that. My Middle School let me bring a fucking pocket knife to school and kids are getting in trouble for a toy gun the same length as the blade that I was allowed to bring? Wow.
This.

I remember I used to have my pocket knife at school too. Larger than that gun, btw. And no one thought that's inappropriate.

No-one else get this?:
Boom! Trouble ensued, with Patrick's mom getting a phone call from Public School 52 Principal Evelyn Mastroianni saying her son had somehow gone from straight A's to the NRA.
So someone who gets straight A's can't be in the NRA? So... People in the NRA can't get straight A's, therefore are dumbasses... Yeah, I can see your logic. The people who live in a society where a gun is a right and who SEEK TRAINING FROM PROFESSIONALS are clearly the stupid ones. Makes me sick.

Sadly this started in the 80's when I first went to school, and not only did they ban a 2 inch like gun, they banned any action figure gun like starwars, gi joe which were what 1/4th a inch? With as much fanatic insainty as they do today.

What's entertaining to me is not the discussion about the ridiculous size of the "gun", but more so the fact that people have become so "terrorized" that a boy can't even play with a damned toy gun anymore.

I'm happy to say I live in a country which, despite all the terror propaganda, still allows kids to play with whatever toys they want, irrespective of its size ( Don't misread this ;) )

Remember that school districts are controlled locally, not at the federal level. I'm not so sure this is a side effect of terror so much as it is just some principal taking her job a little too far. But because of the frequency of school shootings and the climate of violence schools can often be, she's probably trying to be careful not to get her ass sued or one of her teachers fired. Only thing is, she mangaed to accomplish the reverse by overreacting.

Well, it's shocking and bizzare, but I'm going to treat it with a resounding "meh"...The Principal will look foolish and get a slap on the wrist by who ever the local authority is and nothing about this will be heard of again.
[sub]Terrible article by the way...[/sub]
Why terrible article, if you mean on my part please elaborate so I can improve.
Oh don't worry, it's nothing to do with you and I'm sorry if that's what I came across as saying. I was just noting that the article was ridiculously bias and the journalist clearly didn't even bother talking to said Principle. The story itself is bizzare but the journalist is clearly just pandering to the bizzare nature of what has happened. Almost as if the journalist had some personal vendetta against the Principal.
