The only thing I have to say is this, well the parents shouldn't let there kids run in a parking lot.

"They came in and rented (a home) in a community that does not have a playground and is not conducive to children. Then they expect the children to play in the driveways and parking lot.

I mean come on that's kinda bad to let a kid lose where cars have little view for a tiny person popping out of no where

In all seriousness though this shit is fucked up. We won't have children playing outside because they could get hurt. We won't have kids playing inside because they could hit their heads on the kitchen table. We won't have them watching too much TV because it rots their brains. Video games? Oh I won't have my child playing those murder simulators! People have to realize that life itself has inherent risks, and those risks are what make life worth living.

Edit: And let's not forget the obnoxious "whiney *****" that gets bothered by kids playing outside...dude i live across the street from a kindergarten with a bigass playground....suck it up and get used to the noise it ain't that bad after a while (although 3 kids yelling "faster" at the top of their loungs for 30 mins straight can be annoying ;P)

i mean jesus, part of the fun of being a kid is getting wrattled and scraped all the damn time from playing harsh games of tag/hide n seek/ capture the flag in the neighborhood.

Hell one of the best moments (well i was 13 at the time so not really so much a child anymore at that moment) i remember as a kid was playing tag and running full speed into a tree (was looking at the person chasing me)

god dammit it hurt and left my whole body scratched to hell but the next week after that one of the funnest things to look back on.

I remember when my elementary school banned tag. My group of friends ended up just sitting on a bench, and then they got mad at us for sitting on the bench becuase we weren't running around...

It really is one of those things that you can only just gawk at and wonder about the stability of the people who want to pad their children's lives.

Yar about the same thing happened to me, but instead of just not play tag, we weren't allowed to run at all. All because some kid received a minor injury. Fucking parents who sue the school system if their child comes home with the slightest bit of damage. "My son received a cut that barely broke the skin?! How dare you endanger him by letting him run around like a normal child! Next time he might lose an arm or get his head chopped off!"

Getting hurt is a natural part of growing up, so much so that I've even heard psychologists argue that it's essential for whatever googleworthy reasons. At the very least it helps us assess risks and dangerous situations which is freaking important.

Sure if something is directly causing kids to die or is inherently dangerous then it should be discouraged and maybe even banned.
Playing tag? No danger at all. Someone might fall over from running and scrape their knee but that's a direct result of running, not playing tag. Hell you could even fall over from walking, are they gonna ban that too?

They aren't banning tag, they're banning tag inside the subdivision, which has no lawns or backyards. It's all roads and parking lots.

There's a church 100 yards away with a wide open lawn. This ban will not prohibit the kids from playing tag over there.

Eh that's not so bad then. My point still stands though because I remember tag being banned at my school like 10 years ago and that place was all closed off playgrounds.

Oh dude you have no idea. Tag is some srz biznus around my town. Small armed gangs of children roam the streets firing blindly into darkened alleys hoping they'll hit someone, and those are the kids who aren't "IT".
