I hated the first Killzone, and from what I've seen of this it looks like more of the same.
Anybody else get the idea that the Sony is trying too hard to get a good exclusive game?
Seeing as how they HAVE teh best exclusives no....but from all the videos ive seen no 1 shows gameplay of using the sights on your guns which looks like you NEED to.
Erm... Can you name any Sony exclusives that are better than the Microsoft equivalants?
Bioshock (better on the PS3, not a matter of opinion, it has more content), Resistance, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, Warhawk, MGS4, SOCOM: Confrontation (admittedly not such a great game, but the 360 doesn't have any 16 vs 16 multiplayer games anyway so it wins by default), Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5, inFamous, Uncharted, and Uncharted 2.
Sorry to interrupt, but Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 aren't even out yet, or inFamous for that matter, so how can you possibly know if they are better than anything?

Also he said exclusives, and Bioshock isn't an exclusive (even if it is superior to the 360 version)
Heavy Rain is made by the people who made Indigo Prophecy and from what I've seen, it' looks very promising. inFamous is made by Sucker Punch studios, the same people that made the Sly Cooper series, and from what I've seen of the gameplay, it looks completely awesome. Uncharted 2 is the sequel to Uncharted so it can't be bad. The 360 doesn't even have any open world superhero epics, anything like Heavy Rain, and the only adventure games it has are the Lara Croft series (I mean like treasure hunting adventure games) and Uncharted is better than the recent Lara Croft games.

Killzone : An unloved decent FPS that was completly killed by hype and being dubbed 'Halo killer' (which is fine, cause Half Life 2 did that job anyway)

Killzone Liberation : A very successful PSP game showing Guerilla has potential to do things right. It also won 'PSP Game of the year' a handheld system dominated by JRPGs.

Killzone 2: Once again the hype has started. I can only hope it's not the thing that kills it once again.

Oh I'm not questioning the projected quality of the games. Heavy Rain is one of the reasons I will buy a PS3 in future (along with Killzone 2) because I loved Fahrenheit to death (and Killzone). But he said 'can you name any Sony exclusives that are better than the microsoft equivalents?' in which case some of the ones you stated can't be applicable because no one knows if they are better (Heavy Rain and inFamous) because they are not out yet. For all you know uncharted could be a smelly bowl of arse, we don't know until it comes out.

Metal Gear Solid, God Of War, Gran Turismo, Singstar, Ratchet and Clank.....
It's already got a -1 against killing Halo for not having bright colorful graphics and alien midgets running around.
Alien midgets are awesome! They're like the Covenant's personal Oompa-Loompas.

Seriously though, I dunno why we keep comparing KZ2 to Halo besides the fact there's an interstellar war going on. The multiplayer game play seems closer to the COD franchise and the grittiness seems more reminiscent of Gears. It'd be closer to compare Resistance 2 to Halo in terms of gameplay, story, weapons, color scheme, etc.

Although, we all know none of these shooters can compare to Rise of the Triad =]

KZ2 has a bit of an uphill battle against the original's lack of stellar reputation, and Sony's incompetent marketing department (the prerendered trailer claimed as realtime, bullshots, etc.), and the fact that it's coming out close to Street Fighter IV, which is pretty much a cultural icon of gaming, but the PS3 is so starved of really good shooters I expect it would sell anyway.
Aren't shooters the best PS3 has.
What it lacks is everything else!
Tell me what the PS3 lacks and I'll tell you how wrong you are.
JRPGs
RTS
BEAT EM UPS

I love PS3 but Im still waiting on Tekken 6, Red Alert 3 and FF13 to give me some variety to my 25+ collection of repetitive games.

Who knows? Fallout 1 and 2 hardly sold at all, and Fallout 3 sold a bajillion copies.
The first two did not sell? Really? I played two I thought it was great. I was lucky because I was able to borrow it from a friend.

JRPGs - Disgaea 3, Eternal Sonata, Valkyria Chronicles, Folklore, Oblivion, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

RTS - Any console gaming company willing to make one of these is at least partially retarded.

Beat em ups - SF4(along with the SF's they have released on PSN), SC4, VF5, MC vs DCU, Naruto: UNS, any DBZ game, Def Jam, Tekken 5: Dark resurrection online.

P.S. I include multi-platform games because at the end of the day, they are still on the PS3.

A lot of the games you listed arent even allowed in the categories.
How are Oblivion, Marvel and VC JRPGs?
RTS can work on consoles, if they didnt then how come Red Alert 3 is selling well and getting good reviews on the 360?
And the beat em ups arent worth mentioning because with the exception of Street Fighter, none of them are any good.

I have MC vs DC, Soul calibur, Def Jam and have played the DBZ demo, their all mediocre.

I honestly dont believe that even the most hardcore of PS3 fans would say truthfully that the console has enough variety and quantity of games this far into its release.

I think that Killzone 2 will be fine the way it is.

I haven't played any other Killzone and I want this game.

and whoever started the whole "PS3 has no good games" argument or whatever, then I have a question:

What big exclusives does the 360 have besides Halo 3 and Gears of War 2. And they have to be good, not crappy ones like Lips, or Perfect Dark Zero.

Not enough varaiaty? Are you kidding? Resistance 1 and 2, Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk, Moterstorm, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, and Warhawk are all vastly diferant from one another. The only game Killzone 2 seems to comapre with is Resistance 1 and 2. Other than that, at the moment all PS3 games are waaay differant from one another. Plus the other 3 games comeing out this year, Infamous, Uncharted 2, and Heavy Rain will all be differant from current PS3 exclusives and not even near the same. The sequals are the only real things that aren't as varied.

Every hyped up FPS that has come out in the last five years was dubbed a "Halo killer," including the first Killzone. Also I can't believe you remember Rise of the Triad; then again, I can't think of any other game where GOD MODE is a powerup.

Especially since, save for maybe Def Jam (I haven't played it), none of those are even beat 'em ups. Let's make the distinction clear so this mistake doesn't happen again.

Fighting games: games where you face off against one opponent with equal life and a similar moveset to you. Examples being everything you mentioned.
Beat 'em ups: games where you slaughter thousands of people in one map because their life bars are practically nonexistent and they forget to attack at low difficulty levels. Examples include Castle Crashers, Streets of Rage, Heavenly Sword, Chinese War Game, etc.

(Side note to Indigo Dingo because I don't feel like making a third quote thing: Why are you comparing two games as awful as Lips and Singstar anyway? They're both bad, no need to compare their suckage. :p)

Why would we need/want more shooters anyway? And I'm not talking about the PS3 only.

Metal Gear Solid one of the best designed games i have ever played.
