Oh and if you never played it (shame) then feel free to ask me about it.
I...LOATHE...KH.....

I'm sorry. I cannot withstand the psychological agony of having Squall (inexplicably renamed Leon?) in the same frame as Goofy. It's...fucking horrible.

I liked 1 a little, but everything after was just progressively going downhill in terms of story and the gameplay just keeps getting less challenging each time. I doubt I'll get any new games that come out.

the kingdom hearts games are my favorite games of all time. i really hope kh3 is soon. the only problem i had with KH2 was the way cutscenes would have so many awkward pauses between lines. The first one didnt have that problem, so wonder what happened.

It's one of my favorite video game series, and I can't wait for Birth By Sleep.

I bought a PS3 just for KH III. Now all they have to do is MAKE THE FUCKING GAME.

/rage

A bit more on the serious side I recently realized that KH2 is in fact my favorite game. Ever. The elements of the game just work for me. I might even buy a PSP for Birth by Sleep if I hear good things about it. But really just I want my KH III.

His last name is Leonhart. He wasn't renamed Leon, that's just a nickname.

...Huh. Well, shows what I know, though that looks like it's quoted from the in-game glossary, and I never read all that nonsense. Still, it's not inexplicable, and it makes sense... somewhat. Leonhart to Leon makes sense, but I'm not entirely sure how changing one's name amends anything, sound more like running, or hiding to me.

Add my name to the long list of people who enjoyed the first two, but couldn't be bothered with the handheld games. I'm sure they're quite excellent, but I'd much rather play the games on a TV than on a 3" screen. I'll probably end up getting BBS (my wife loves the KH series), but I'd much rather get a legit KH3.

I agree. It sounds like something Squall would do at the beginning of Final Fantasy 8, but definitely not by the end. I guess it makes sense though, having ones entire homeworld destroyed could cause some personality regression (at the very least).

*sighs*, I don't know. Kingdom hearts is so CLOSE to being a great game in my book. It's almost like Dissidia in RPG form but.....then Disney characters get involved. I don't know. I can't get past that. I can see the good concept, compelling storyline, and good game mechanics but I just can't take anything seriously when motherfucking Donald Duck is my 1337 Mage character.

Kingdom Hearts was one of the best games I have ever played; the first good action JRPG I had ever played. I really liked the platforming (hence the high jump and glide) and the extras, such as The Ice Titan, the Arena, Sephiroth, Phantom, Kurt Ziza, the 101 Dalmations... So much to do and explore after the game. AND, it wasnt linear. You could, and frequently did, get lost.

Kingdom Hearts 2 fixed the combat and camera, making them more presentable and fixing the gameplay. The plot in 2 excelled; but made the series feel like the Disney part was un-needed. They also took out a lot of extras; Sephiroth was the only extra, and the Arena was lame. Drives, Limits, etc. were fun, but I missed the extras and it was too linear.

Chain Of Memories was like a GBA remake of 1, replacing "Heart" in text with "Memory", except the parts when you were actually in Castle Oblivion. The combat was very fun, for a card-based game. Gave lots of variety, and the plot was interesting. Riku got his story in too, something I liked. I heard the remake of it is better; I have yet to buy it. Already own the GBA version.

358/2 Days was very interesting as well. The combat mimiced a mix of the three games: You had to build a deck with abilities, Keyblade and Magic (instead of having AP). They took away Mana, so you had a limited number of casts, based off your deck. Other then that, the combat was like the Original. If your health got to a point, you could activate a special limit, allowing your character to use a desperation move. The levels were linear, but they were intended to be, since it went for 358 days, day by day.

Playing as Roxas, seeing his story, and Xion made the game worth it. I loved the end of that game, and liked how it transitions into KH2 so smoothly. The multiplayer and mission mode were gimmicks, but fun none the less. Playing as the Organization, Xion, Riku, Sora, Donald, Goofy, or the King is immensely fun. The game was kinda slow, but forgiveable.

Birth By Sleep appears to be fun, with interesting combat and plot. I dont know much Japanese, so Ill wait for a localized version to come out.

Eh, the only Disney character that was unsettling for me was Goofy, just because all he did was bonk people with a shield, and Donald was so badass I could overlook it.

I loved one, but I missed chain of memories so when I played two I didn't know where organization 13 came from, so I have now through wiki and youtube patched a frankienstien sort of idea on how the story works...... Wish I was rich enough to get 368/2 days cuz I love Roxas

Really, I think it's crazy awesome.

Think about it...A crossover between Disney and Square enix....and it works .

Sure some characters were change, but really my mind is blown.

Crap...you know where I can find a copy.

That;s the beauty of it in my opinion, the Disney characters may feel tacked-on and pointless but it does a fantastic job of intergrating the two plotlines together.

I love KH 1 & 2 but it really irks me that 3 is still yet to come around and that they keep making all these portable console versions so that I won't know what's been going on when I play 3. I don't have time nor a desire for portable gaming, I'm busy when I'm out of the house to game and I don't have a 46" HDTV at home so that I can play on a handheld.

Saw a trailer or something for KH3 that had some old guy turning people to ice, before i'd thought it was a stupid disney game but now its pretty high on my list of highly anticipated games
That was a trailer for Birth by Sleep a PSP game.
