Y'know, I'm not sure if they're still doing it, but I got a whole month of LIVE for only a dollar.chaosyoshimage said:So, next week for those of us with Xbox Live Free?

Also, I'm downloading the demo as I type this! Demo for The Darkness II, as well.
It was no Icewind Dale, I'll give you that!IamLEAM1983 said:Ken Ralston is also attached to the project, and he was one of the bigger reasons behind Oblivion's success.
As for R.A. Salvatore... All I'm hoping for is that the game's plot doesn't involve Emo dark elves with twin scimitars and a panther named with the Celtic variation of an Arthurian character's name.
He's a decent author, yeah, sure, but the Dark Elf Trilogy was just plain horrible. It's bad, horribly lazy fanfic material at best.
Mine too, friend.DustyDrB said:Downloading it as well. Slowly...The Pinray said:Also, I'm downloading the demo as I type this! Demo for The Darkness II, as well.
God my internet sucks.
Actually, the demo is up on steam right now, so you don't have to use Origin at all. EA is publishing the game, but game that tend to be exclusive to just Origin are first party made game by devs owned by EA. 38 Studios aint owned by EA I don't think.amaranth_dru said:KoA Demo is now available for PC. Problem for most of you Escapist users, you have to use Origin. So, if you want KoA for PC, you have to bite the bullet.
And if any of you pirate this game just because its "published" by EA, you are human scum. The designer studio deserves credit and money from anyone who plays this game, especially due to the dev studio's perseverance against all opposition to make this game come out.
Icewind Dale was pretty good overall, and I liked the Crystal Shard series, too. I just have issues with Drizzt as a character - when Salvatore's the one making his lips flap. Drizzt as a character archetype or concept with the Forgotten Realms campaign setting? No problem.Wolfram01 said:It was no Icewind Dale, I'll give you that!IamLEAM1983 said:Ken Ralston is also attached to the project, and he was one of the bigger reasons behind Oblivion's success.

Also, I think this is the first time I've even heard of this game. But, I am looking for an excellent RPG, hopefully this is it. Skyrim was... well, time well wasted, I guess, but kind of became a stale fart after a while. Before that I played Fable 3, which kind of did the same thing. Prior to that, though, I stumbled on Risen and that game was fan freaking tastic. If KoA:R isn't going to be out for a while, I might have to replay Risen.

As for Skyrim, I'm still enjoying thoroughly, but I find it works best when you approach it in spurts. If all you play for a good while is Skyrim, then the gameplay does tend to feel a bit rote, and the swordplay only becomes interesting when you trigger a kill animation.
So I've been diluting my Skyrim with some Revelations and a bit of Saints Row 3. Works like a charm.
Amalur looks interesting, but those few screens and videos I've seen are leaving me a bit skeptical about the structure. This doesn't look to be a Skyrim-type open-world setting, and the gameworld looks like a sequence of generous corridors à la Zelda.
I'm cautiously optimistic, although I'll admit I've been thoroughly spoiled by the Bethesda school of RPing. I can't go back to Fable 3 or Dragon Age II's corridors after experiencing Skyrim. Or, well, not without some mental preparation and a few adjustments to my expectations.
The emphasis should be on grinding and phat lewt.PinochetIsMyBro said:I hope the story's good. All the website has is information on classes and combat.
If it's an RPG, shouldn't the emphasis be on the story?
