Kitchen fails

So, I just reheated some leftover KFC, and was thinking to myself: 'Wow, this really doesn't reheat so well' no matter how long I put it in for, it still came out soggy (ate it anyways of course). But, that got me thinking to past culinary adventures that didn't turn out so well.

Actually following the heating directions for microwaving buffalo chicken strips and ending up with deep fried hockey pucks.

Trying to make beef and potato stew, but, not realizing I needed flour to give it color and consistency. Basically ended up with beef and potatoes in water. Still ate it, was alright.

So, I ask you, Escapists, What are some of your kitchen failures? It can be anything from crashing the souffle that took hours to prepare, setting your dorm on fire when you tried to boil water, or trying to copy mom and ending up with a science experiment.

I had some breaded cod for dinner and, the next day, I decide to reheat the leftover piece. I ask Dad and he says it should microwave fine, so I stick it in for 2 minutes.

20 seconds pass...

BOOM!

When I was a kid my parents forbid me to use the toaster since I always slid a knife in to help me reach my warm bready goal.

I had to, though, I was scared of being burned and I couldn't lift the bread up with the 'plunger' thing on the side (this toaster couldn't do that).

I still do that. Not been injured so far.

First time I cooked pancakes, from mix enough for 4 I had half of one and had to throw out my frying pan, that is my biggest failure, not too bad.

So, I found a recipe for "cake" that you make in a coffee mug and back in the microwave... It really didn't work out too well though, the egg cooked way before everything else so it was a chocolatey mess with bits of egg in it. Tasted horrible.

Edit: Also put powdered sugar in gravy instead of flower. Kept adding more and more wondering why it wouldn't thicken up. Tasted it a little bit later and knew why.

I've not had anything really bad happen to me in the kitchen.

Worst thing was probably when I dropped a full can of Ravioli on my big toe, which eventually caused the nail to fall off...somehow...

That was the 3rd time I've lost my big toe nail. Is burst a few blood vessels underneath the nail and like, sheds like skin, or something....

I left a metal fork in the microwave for three minutes last week. Nothing exploded.

I accidentaly put 2 waffles in the microwave for 90 seconds once. I took them out, dropped the plate on the floor, then ran to the shower to pour water all over my leg because the 150º waffle syrup was all over it. Luckily the plate didn't shatter.

I was cooking Hamburger Helper for like an hour and a half without a flame once. After I figured that out I burned it. After I burned it I ate it. Not as bad as you'd think.

That is so hilarious.

One time I tried to reheat a cinnibon. So I put it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Its only ment fo 20-30 secs.
Cannot belive it didnt catch on fire, but it did turn into a little black crisp.
