I suggest hitting her in the face with a brick then dumping her in a huge metal big so she cant climb out. See how she likes it.
I agree with this!

Although it wasn't the nicest thing to do to a cat its not like she brutally killed it and ate the remains. Jeez, death threats? Really?

I don't see what everyones getting so worked up about.

I assumed the thread title meant that someone was dumping their own kittens because they didn't want them - but this woman dumped someone else's cat... like wtf? What possible reason did she have to do that?

women in general are known to have this issues.
Excuse me? This one woman has something wrong with her head, that doesn't mean she represents all women.

Yeah, boxes of kittens get tossed out of cars about once a week on the main road outside of a town near me.
What gets me is why they wait until they are old enough to be seperated from their mother to toss them. It's like, what sort of fucking sense does that make. Just put them up for adoption, you idiot.

But what can you do. People refuse to spay/neuter their pets, and cannot be fucked dealing with the consequences.
About the only action you can take is to rescue whatever you can.

EDIT: Also, I agree with manythings.
This is a pretty asinine news story.
Well, the lady does need to be brought up on animal cruelty charges.

That said, there are various arguements against spaying and neutering, among them the way that it can give female cats a sort of saggy "drop belly" that can get in their way (it happened to my cat). I won't get into them in too much detail though.

The thing is with cats is that there are millions and millions of them out there. Giving them away for adoption is not easy, and turning them in to the humane society or whatever is a death wish, they'll probably get a week and then be killed anyway. Letting the cats get to the point where they are old enough to fend for themselves and then dropping them off somewhere is a reasonable compromise compared to the old practice of drowning them in a
sack which I can't stand for.

What's more, I'll be painfully honest: the benefits of having wild cats around greatly outweigh the cons. Largely because if you have a large community of wild cats in your region they are probably finding a ton of vermin to hunt (in addition to going through garbage cans and such). Cats generally go where the vermin are. I've heard cases where in the past people who have gotten tired of wild cats yowling or knocking over trash cans and such have gotten the local dog wardens to round them up. In cases where it has actually worked, the area was eventually overrun with rodents. Basically if you've got enough trash where it was attracting the cats, it's enough trash to attract the mice. When the cats are gone instead of listening to them, you have to deal with the mice living long enough to burrow into walls and such and they are a heck of a lot harder to get rid of.

At first, I did however think that this was about a cat shitting in a bin.
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that.

That's quite wrong if you ask me; poor little thing wasn't even a year old and some giant woman comes up, grabs you by the scruff and drops you into a smelly chamber of possible death. :|

Makes me think twice about humanity.

So, is every street in England monitored? I assume the footage is sent directly to Miniluv.

Lucky for the cat, though :)
The owners of the house (and the cat) happened to have security cameras of their own.
I just keep hearing scary stuff from UK residents about cameras being placed everywhere in London.

So, you're saying the owners had the cameras installed there? What a well prepared ambush for crazy old women! ;)

I am happy the kitten is not injured. I am also happy the woman was caught on camera as well and I hope she gets a severe punishment for it. How could anyone want to hurt something that cute and adorable?

No, I don't think you understand.
They dump them out of speeding cars.
The ones that survive are so dazed, they tend to get run over.

And any argument against spaying is pretty silly. Sure, they may get a drop belly, but at least they are not pushing out kittens every few months.
Now, I'm not sure if you've noticed, but having babies really hurts. It's not fair on them. And it's really not good for their lifespan.
I have a cousin who is a vet. She's pretty adamant about this sort of thing.

Your argument for wild cats, however, really does make a lot of sense.
It's just, you know, kind of a shame they have to come about because people refuse to pay to give their pets the snip.
I know that sounds sort of snobbish, but I have been seriously fucking poor for the better part of my life, and my family has always been able to get it done.
If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet, as they say.
"They" being my cousin.
Constantly.

Meanwhile, in Baltimore - 5 murders this week; 129 total murders this year.
This sums up my feelings. I...am not a big animal person. It does bother me a little when people are in huge uproar about animal issues....with hundreds of thousands of humans suffering every day.

putting a cat in a box it cannot get out of, with no food, water, light or anything to let it die a slow death is not a "slight transgression", you thick pillock! i could see if she just kicked it, and people were sending her death threats, that would be out of line. but to do something that would ultimately end in the slow death of an animal is a perfectly ok reason to send death threats.
"Box of death"? She trapped it in a bin until its owners came home. Based on the apparent time of day and the fact that the bins were on the inside of the fence it clearly WASNT garbage day. Hell, say it didn't make a sound, the owners would still notice the next time they put something in the damn bin. Death threats ARE unwarranted, end of story. She could have stomped on its head and they'd still be unwarranted. Only crazy fuckjobs make death threats.

Rawr this thread is going downhill (seriously guys you don't need to kill her and send her off to god knows where, the cat is ok) and yes lots of people are suffering everyday is what you should be caring about. (this dosen't mean I dislike the cat I am happy the woman was caught, and you people say CCTV is a bad idea)

At first, I thought a kitten had been caught defecating on CCTV. This is much worse. Woman deserves jail-time, at the least.
