I have just joined a movement...one which will make a man, who has commited hundreds of crimes famous. His name is Joseph Kony. I won't be suprised if you haven't heard of him...most of the globe hasn't. but they should.

This is the start of something huge, gigantic even, to get this man arrested.

This man has kidnapped children, and forced them to kill, for no reason at all. The people who made the video above have opened my eyes, and i hope they open yours. for the first time in history, American advisors were sent to Uganda to help capture him...Because the people demanded it. However, it's been at least 6 years now, and no luck, they could be pulled out at any moment, and in order to keep them there, to help the Ugandan army, the people MUST know and support this group!

I post this here, cause other than Facebook, this is (for me) the best place to post it to make Kony known globaly, all i ask, is that you watch the video, and share this where ever you can.

If this was in the UK, or America, this man would of been arrested within a heart beat, so why not there?

Watch and share, and hopefully this man will be caught!

Wait, people don't know about The Lord's Resistance Army? Boy the world is insular.

My high school knew about this guy for years. The Invisible Children program was a pretty big part of my four years there. I'm surprised not a lot of other people knew about this.

So thats what all this fuss and constant linkage has been about.

As noble a cause as this probably is, why cant we just send in special forces to slot this guy? Or better yet, actually pool up resources to go after Bashar al Assad effectively.

At first I thought it was great that such a worthy cause was growing.
But then I heard that only 25% of the money invisiblechildren gets is actually used for it's intended purpose. It's too bad I want to support a good organization but It seems there aren't any.
That's charity for you, and that's why I never donate my money

OT: I'm not sure all of this raising awareness business will actually stop him
What we need is for the major governments to be finding him and taking him down
But I suppose that's what the whole thing is about, which makes no sense of why I should donate.

Im not going to say that this kind of stuff should exist or that I dont agree with the message that the video is trying to tell but it is very clear that the video has that "brainwash" vibe to it, I really hate that kind of thing. It's like that Zeitgeist film or something.

Well the reason for that is he hasn't been active in Uganda since 2006...

More OT: The Kony issue is good that it's being promoted however it is disappointing that Invisible Children is being used as the figure head on this crusade.
I advice promoting the capture of Kony, while avoiding promoting Invisible Children due to it being a corrupt charity, or at the very least point out the issues with Invisible Children.

It's a bit harsh to say that, most charities are fine, but it's these ones that use their money for themselves and also to make videos like this that are corrupt.
Most charities are fine as they are investigated by government organisations.

I don't agree with the company that runs this and the small percentage of donations that's actually put to use.

I thought that I supported those who felt passionate enough to spread the message to get something done but on reflection I really, really don't.

It seems that by spreading attention people want the Western powers to get involved, I am heavily against the idea of our countries asserting a military presence in this area and escalating yet another conflict. It seems both my country (the UK) and the US feel the need to police the world and while from an outsiders view in this case it may help I'm not sure that I agree with our supporting rebels in Libya as it just appears like meddling - at the end of the day who are we to pick sides.

The problem here isn't even necessarily Kony, he's retreated and his use of children has decreased over the last few years by 80%. Much like Bin Laden he's merely a figurehead and what is needed is sanctions to be imposed on those who have allowed this to happen over the last four decades.

From what i see, from Visable Children, and this article, there is no actual evidence that Invisible Children is corrupt, it's all second hand.

the comments below the article also seem to point to that...meh, every time someone try's to do something good on the internet, there is always a small group of people trying to stop them.

I have the same stance that most of the UN had during the Rwandan genocide: don't care.

Firstly the Visible Children article has plenty of evidence, I am confused as to how that is not clear.
As for people against it, if their against the trend, then I would call them a bad person, however if their for Kony to be taken down they are good.
What annoys me is the trend is about Kony 2012 and not Joseph Kony, which is where the problem lies. Also my article that I linked has a fair bit of info, altho the later parts are silly.
