He should really wear a pair of blinders at all times. It would make it easier to believe how he could be this dense.

It's like Activision is trying to piss everyone off...
No way they can't do that...

" He then detailed how Activision was Bungie's "only choice" to publish its next title. "

I'm sorry!!! I can't hear you over your ego!

Everyone has a little man in their head to stop them before they say something stupid, Kotick's must step out to smoke a bag of hash whenever an interview or press conference is held.

And the corporate dick waving begins, how much longer until they declare war and launch tactical missile strikes?

He just admires that Bungie is also greedy like he is, but still has tons of loyal "fans".

Right.
The thing about Valves titles is, they're just what they are. TF2 IS a multiplayer FPS, one of the finer ones out there but that's all it is.
Half life IS the epic story of Gordon Freeman fighting the Combine. Portal is a sexy, sleek little single player puzzler but again, that's exactly what it is.
In my eyes, Valve makes great games sure but none of them seem to take that step to be that little bit more.

Halo, whilst being mostly famous for it's online play being loaded to the teeth with "wooting dickholes" is a single player game with a decent and expansive story (1-3, reach, missed any? *shrug*).
It's also a really good time on Multiplayer too, hell the fans were playing for a damn long time after they threatened to shut down the Halo 2 servers.
It even went competitive,
Bungie did well for themselves, Reach seems to be quite the swan song for all their hard work and honestly seeing the trailer for forge world.
I came.
I was tempted to shuffle my xbox off just to get it fixed so I could play (Note: I didn't).

It's a lot of ground for one title to cover, Valve has done it all sure but it's done it all through numerous titles.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to down talk Valve at all here. I guess I'm just looking at it differently.
Sorry, but when you say that valves games are JUST games, what do you classify the halo series as? Something more than games? At it's most basic you could view Halo, Bioshock, Half-life, Unreal Tournament, Thief, and Starcraft as JUST games.

You missed the point of the post entirely.

Each game valve produced is pretty set in its ways, TF2 is just an online FPS, portal is a single player FPS/puzzler.
Halo is a single player story driven game, co-op based, or mutliplayer title.

Essentially what I was getting at.

I won't go into Steam and Unreal Engine because I'd believe Kotic would only be talking about games development, could be wrong though.
Come again.
Straw man, you are giving examples for Bungie contribution that goes beyond games, but do not take into account what other companies have done that is beyond the games themselves.

Just a tip, guys like Kotick have orgasms at the idea of selling engines and being self-published.

I think I am getting where you are getting with it now. Unfortunetly you are still incorect.

The trio you described has existed since 1994 at least, as Heretic had all of those three aspects. In fact there was a separate campaign for the co-op part.

Half-life does support multiplayer, however co-op would be unthinkable as the narrative doesn't allow it.

Also don't forget that originaly Episode 2 was sold with the Orange box - giving you Episode 2; Team Fortress 2 and Portal for the price of a single game.

And also - Halo is just a game. If we go by your definition World of Warcraft is the greatest thing to hit gaming since gaming was invented, which is simply not true.

EDIT: Drinking game, take a shot every time I say also.
