Meh, so long as Lucas is forcively removed from any attempts to be involved in this, and Bioware isnt constricted in any way then its all right.
You know, I think you're right. Let Bioware do it's thing.
last time I checked, Lucasarts sold the rights to a Kotor MMO to Bioware directly, so they have no say in the game.
This makes me happy. Maybe now, we can get a "Mature" rating out of it, see some Bastila nudity. That was why Bioware kept the content so low-key, Lucas Arts said to keep it at a "Teen" rating.

I've been, but I missed it. I'll have to look again, Bastila is hot. However, it's not the same as having it in the game, the game is interactive and immersive, as if I was actually standing on that ship, falling in love with her. It would be deeper and better if it were in the game. Hell, they could have at least showed the kiss, there's nothing explicit about that, there was kissing in the movies. They would still have been able to keep their "Teen" rating.

I wonder if it's going to be like WoW where you join horde or alliance, but in this case Light side or dark side, but wasn't the main point of KoTOR your choices make who you are, I guess we'll just have to wait to see how they'll figure out that part of the game.
This is part of the charm of the series that I am hopeful we will see in the MMO. I'd like a way to join light or dark side, with different choices and paths intertwined with your campaigns. Considering Jedi are more common here, I don't support the idea of limiting force poweered characters - but I would like to ensure that force powers are not treated like some crazy, insane thing as we saw in SWG. Really, I think the element of choice along with some unique and interesting twists like a vehicle or ship building system would work pretty well.

I love the BioWare products and have some interest in what they will be coming up with.

Yeah, because nothing says Knights of the "OLD" Republic like millions of leet speaking, poor excuse for human, "Jedi" running around the galaxy in a time when there werent that many Jedi around.

I always thought part of the appeal of KOTOR was that Jedi and Sith were a dime a dozen. Did the setting say otherwise?

um...in KOTOR 2, you played as one of the very last Jedi in the galaxy. Heck, that is the reason the Sith are after you.

Ah. That would explain it; I kind of gave up on KOTOR 2 soon after the first planet, and tried to forget the memory (preachy ethics can go screw themselves).

The main problem with this thinking however is that of course, try explaining this to Joe Blow who wants to be the MOST POWERFUL JEDI EVER!!! ER Er er... (Echo effect) Most of us know that they are Monks/Diplomats that really resort to violence as a last resort... But when you open it up to an MMO, you let in the flood gates of blood thirsty young ones who want to hack and slash their way through the galaxy to grind out maximum levels and talk smack about how no one can defeat them. Ugh...

As long as non-jedi can hold their own against jedi, it could be good. Here is my checklist of non-jedi they should allow as PCs:
* Non-jedi soldiers, e.g. Mandalorians or Wookiees
* Tech/demolition specialists
* Droids (HK-47 anyone?)

I do have to agree with most people though that KOTOR 3 would be better. I hate MMOs.

I'm scared of this game. I really am afraid that if I bought it I would be hopelessly addicted. If it can happen with Guild Wars then I am even more vulnerable to a product that is based off Star Wars. I would much rather have a KotOR 3 instead.

MMOs are like crack.

Lastly there should be a good range of races, Human, Twi'lek, Wookie, Mandolorian, Yodas, Iridonians.
Just figured I'd let you know, I think you're refering to Bao Dur. He was a zabrak who happened to be from the planet Iridonia, which is why he was called Iridonian. But his species is Zabrak.

As incredibly hectic as this entire situation sounds like it could get, the clan leader in me is very interested in the prospect of a guild (or whatever the term will be) composed of force users. Very interested indeed.
