Man, it's like Germany and Australia are in this constant struggle to outdo each other in making gamers miserable.

At least now I won't have to resist the temptation to not boycott it.

Man that really bits, sorry my doods. Though, couldn't people in austraila, not like this is even practical, order them from website and have them shipped to them? Guess if they could people would be doing that.

Well hopefully things will change.

I'm going to guess that it's related to all the Pills that are there. Just because it's the last thing anybody would think it'd lose classification for.

I don't see why this is a surprise, Australia is known for banning violent games. It's not like this is a new development.

Sok, you guys aren't going to be missing much anyway.

They can ban a game that is only available via the internet? Do you guys have some kind of internet censoring?

Why is Australia so strict? Pretty ironic considering it was founded by convicts.
They're not really. The problem is they have to R/18 rating so all the games that are deemed to be too graphic/scary/morally objectionable are rejected. They have no R rating for games because only kiddies play games and why would a kiddie want to shoot zombies or steal cars? They have one for films though so it's just their government being obnoxious.
I can't tell if you're being facetious or not, but surely you know the video game market appeals to quite a large age range, the majority of which are between the ages of 18 and 35.

Yeah im sick of it to be honest, we really need a R18+ rating.

Its just pathetic that they have these high rated games just cut in some areas to get through the cracks of the rating system. They are all the same games just with a few cuts here and there to suit the system.

Plus youd have to be pretty stupid to pay local retail prices for game anyway. $100-120 for a new release no thanks.. ill keep importing my uncut games from overseas where I can get them for $50-70 brand new.

Is this to protect the children? Its like they made the rule just to ban games once in a while to see what would happen.

Australian goverment is full of angry Steam Gamers.

BLAST!

i never played L4D1 but the more games our government starts banning... well... ban a few, it steamrolls into hundreds... sigh

strangely enough... we refuse classification to these games, but then have some of the world's loosest laws on prostitution... seems like a bit of a double standard

"Refused Classification"?! What is that, slang for "we're too drunk to write numbers on paper"?! Did their cocaine buckets overflow and they all passed out through work that day? I'm sorry, but it just sounds like sheer laziness on their part. Fuck them with rusty rocket launcher barrels.

I really don't think it's related to the violence guys, it seems more likely that there's one little issue they don't like and therefore have denied rating. It's their style.

Example:
Fallout 3
"OMG MORPINE"
"Um, not anymore, it's MedX now."
"OKAY, I SEE NO CONNECTION"
Shoot a ghoul in Fallout 3, fine, shoot a zombie in L4D, OH NOES! :D

They should just ban all video games, then finally there would be an outrage and the ratings system getting revamped.

wha...? its not that, it was refused classification because we don't have a R rating for video games so anygame deemed above MA15+ gets canned major bs

Yes. They do. That is what makes them even awesomer. XD
our net isnt censored but dickface government is working on it, ps. you're a moron if you think over-regulation means we've uncivilised

what i think is lols is that my friend who was apart of the l4d boycott is now angry at the game being banned aswell, i reckon hes just an angry person lol
