So. Angry. Right. Now.

Is it going to be on PS3? I'll import it, just like I did when Silent Hill: Homecoming was initially refused.

As living in a country that was under soviet union 20 years ago I'd tell that Australian goverment is too much on resrticting peoples freedom, seesms like Australia would one day cut itself off from other countries and declare communism. I just don't get the idea of why unless they really are declaring communism.

And the Nanny State strikes again.

This is one of many reasons why government cannot be allowed to grow to large and have too much power.

Why is Australia so strict? Pretty ironic considering it was founded by convicts.
They're not really. The problem is they have to R/18 rating so all the games that are deemed to be too graphic/scary/morally objectionable are rejected. They have no R rating for games because only kiddies play games and why would a kiddie want to shoot zombies or steal cars? They have one for films though so it's just their government being obnoxious.
Australia actually has quite a large percentage of over 18 gamers. The problem is the entertainment minister keeps on getting changed when they're is about to be a break through so it goes way down on the bottom of the list of things to do. Also I don't think I can over iterate how dumb the Australian government is. I'd rather just let the Queen rule again because at least monarchs have a reason to be retarded (not swimming outside the gene pool if you get my meaning) and she'd be less corrupt.
Exactly, does the AU board think that every gamer in AU is a Kid?
Jeezus, and doesn't it HELP people know how to kill zombies in the Zombie Apocalypse?
Damn.
It would be deliciously ironic if the board were the first to go in a zombie apocalypse and they couldn't stop them because they didn't know the proper melee techniques.

Damn, It's like ESRB in America, Rating games very badly
( Seriously? Super Smash Bros. Brawl is rated Teen? Now those ****** hockey moms won't get it for their children :/).

I think Yatzee might rent a NTSC Xbox 360 or even change his location on Steam...

---Wait... STEAM! YUS! WE LOVE YAH FOR NOT BANNING IT :D
They won't sell it on Steam in Australia, they censored Fallout 3 over steam so I'm pretty sure they fold to government pressure.

The only reason they're doing this is so because they don't want kids to get a hold of it. Well then there lies the obvious problem solution...

... AN R18+ RATING!

God I hate this group of conservative, family value loving dumbasses who are making all the decisions when they haven't played a game outside of the Wii. It's common sense to implement an R rating while you're overhauling the system. Kids don't get to play bad games and you can have lots of time to really consider the issue without pissing every single adult gamer off. They're also trying to start censoring the internet so it's really a fun place to live at the moment.
It's actually the liberals who do that with regards to violence. The conservatives are usually too worried about nipples and mild sexuality to get involved with the violence issue.

Wow. Way to go, Atkinson. No offense to Aussies, but I'm glad I'm not Australian right now.
I wish I wasn't.

When you really think about it there are a heap of games that would be R18 if we had the classification. There's a bunch of stuff that made it through on the MA15 that really shouldn't have.

While I'd agree somewhat, this isn't really the case considering that Jack Thompson is a conservative. I know there are other examples too but I can't think of them.

I've been waiting a long time to say this to someone:

Wow, sucks to be you...

Seriously though, ouch. Do we know why the Aussie government ain't allowing this? Why would they allow L4D 1 but not 2?

Well, assuming there isn't a logial reason for it, I raise my Fosters in a toast of sympathy

I'm sure new Zealand will be announcing that they're completely out of stock by two weeks after the release of L4D2.

Sigh. As an Australian I'd like to complain but I'm afraid the secret police would take me away for speaking out against the glorious regime.
Inorite?

Pretty stupid, none of that nonsense happens in New Zealand, and we're pretty damn close. They just need to slap an R18 rating on the game, it's not like porn gets banned for being graphic.
