So what? Why not be weird to be weird but raise awareness at the same time? Whether you think she did it for her own sake or for what she said it was for either way you thought about gays in the military thus became 'aware' of the issue.
Except I only saw it was gay treatment, not gays in the military, so I didn't particularly become aware. Not to mention this is an issue I am already aware of, and an active crusader of (in favour of ending DADT and allowing gays to serve openly). To raise awareness, one must have their awareness raised. All she did was make a "statement" that served not to make me aware, but to confuse me. Fission Mailed.
Gaga's pretty famous for retroactively turning things into political statements, too, so I have doubt as to whether this was her intent.
Also how do you know why Gaga is weird? Have you met her or seen into her mind somehow? The fact that people are so confident about that fact she is nothing more than an attention whore kind of confuses me because how could you truly know?
That's a pretty ridiculous argument, and all one needs to do to demonstrate how ridiculous it is in nature is apply the same logic to the above statement about raising awareness. Replace "being weird" with "raising gay awareness" and tell me if yuo can see into her mind and know the truth.
Gaga lingered in relative obscurity. She started her outrageous career and got big. It's an act. I'm really surprised anyone's surprised by that.
