Lady Gaga is a dumb *****, trying to raise awarness by talking about "controverse" topics...
I'm pretty sure this is exactly the image she is trying create. More importantly, it's exactly the image that made her famous.

Makes you think highly of society, doesn't it?
Exactly.

I'm made of meat and I don't get any special attention...

I didn't realize that she wore I meat suit. I read something about how she wore something interesting, but then of course she's done that shit before. Was it straight up raw meat? Because I imagine that would stink after a while. Novel idea though.

Lady gaga is the next-gen Marylin Mansion.

You know her and the music is tolerable enough to avoid smashing your radio with a silver cross while wearing earmuffs.

That said, whenever you hear in the news that said professional clown is trying to make a statement, you can't help but shake your head.

Meat suit eh? Reminds me of Spinal Tap, the song Big Bottom. Specifically "my baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo, wanna sink her with my pink torpedo!"

I really doubt this is supposed to be charged with symbolism. She wore a suit made of meat because it fits her stage persona, then she said it represented something baffling for the same reason.

I could just EAT her!

Other than that I thought it was obviously stupid and disgusting. I don't see how the meat and homosexuals are related, but I'm not wellknown for my overall knowledge of America (since I'm european myself).

Is she a homosexual in the US army?
What difference does that make?

And to be fair, most soldiers are treated like meat in the army.

I really don't know much about Lady Gaga. All I know is that her music sounds like shit, so I don't pay any attention to her. However my brother absolutely detests her. He knows a lot about the music industry, since music is his passion. According to him, Lady Gaga just wears these outrageous outfits for attention. She's not really insane, she doesn't believe any of the messages she is sending. She just does this to get attention without actually having talent.

Is he correct? I'm tempted to believe he is since he knows more about the music industry than I do. So I wouldn't pay attention to any bullshit message she claims to be making with her weird outfits. It's just a marketing gimmick. And I suppose it is working wonders, since a lot of people talk about her because of these outfits.

Maybe so, but in this war against Katy Perry, who has more publicity?

I don't understand how wearing a dress made of meat is meant to prove a point about homosexuals in the US Army.

How about I wear a shirt lined with VHS tapes and say it represents the way drugs affect sheep?

Well if its anything like what he wore on that vogue cover, not bad.

As far as the symbolism... he'd be less delusional if he said the meat dress represented the only reason he has a career is because he makes a moderately attractive woman when buried under a few gallons of makeup.

Just feels completely random. The "meat suit" will have no meaning unless she tells them what it stands for, completely making the suits point well....pointless when she could have told them from the start.

And why does she care? that's really my main point by that phrase, how can she fix a problem she hasn't experienced? it feels like a tacky grab for attention.

Yes she's doing it for attention. No she's not crazy. She's a fucking performer. It's not even a dirty secret, she fully admits she's over the top for publicity's sake. Anything wrong with that? Not everyone wants to be a 'serious musician' type. She's in good company, as well. Look back at Bowie, the NY Dolls, the glam movement and the punk movement, all of that was just as much about a striking and controversial aesthetic as it was about the music (despite what the punk revisionists may have you believe).

I for one applaud her for bringing back some of these sensibilities to the mainstream music world, she's the first exciting thing I've seen in the spotlight in awhile. A long while.
