Chinese and german, so much easier to pass my exams. I got the lowest in the class in my last german exams, 2/20. Or for the nerd in me, (it's also all around me) binary.
Japanese, then I could go to Japan and understand animes without having to read the subtitles.
And
Russian, then at least I can understand those Russians (at least I think they're Russian) who keep calling me on my cell phone (I really have no idea how they got my number).

I also know a bit of Spanish, though I'd like to become fluent in it.
Mandarin and Cantonese (Chinese), since Mandarin covers about one 7th of the planet, and apparently the Chinese diaspora is all about Cantonese (not sure about that though). Hindi also has a tremendous amount of speakers, so that would be nice as well. Arabic, of course, Portuguese, Russian, German, MAYBE Japanese, another big maybe Italian, and then just for shits and giggles Ancient Greek and Latin (I loves me some history).
That pretty much covers it. With a decent grasp on those, one could hold a conversation with almost anyone on the planet. Multilingualism is something we should all strive for, says I.

I could, also, wander up to a guy who was giving my friend trouble and, despite my weakling apperance, terrify the shit out of him by asking him something threatening in Russian (acutally, it would be twice as funny if I asked him something like "Would you care to dance at the shops" in a threatening tone)
He'd be terrified because this generation has been conditioned to believe anything Slavic could kill you horribly in a second unless you FUCKING...SIT...UP...AND...LISTEN

I'm disappointed at your guys' lack of imagination here. Given the choice to learn any language, you'd take Japanese? Really? There are far more useful languages. I truly do not understand what is so god damned fascinating about the Japanese. I am baffled.
Fuck and here I thought I was the one with the original choices of french and japanese. And russian, FUCK.
German, because you can pretty much yell anything in that language and sound pissed off, which is just really cool.

Spanish. I live in Miami, and I wouldn't be able certain jobs without it. Although most of those are because it involves dealing with customers, which is something I wouldn't want to do, it still has many practical uses here.
