Make sure these forums stand proud as the best on the internet!
Most of that paragraph was a gigantic arselick.
Ok. Well, it's my opinion that The Escapist really is the best on the web, or else I wouldn't be here. I'm sorry you think it's an "arselick". If I may, however, why did you even post in the thread if you believe you are not significant enough to warrant a closing statement, which was the whole intention of the thread? Just saying, you could at least contribute to the topic at hand, rather than posting that you will not contribute.

Today I was high on acid and realized that all matter is just energy condensed to a slow vibration. I also realized that we are all of the same consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream. And we are all the imagination of ourselves... Goodbye! <<--- Something like that. XD

BEWARE CHINA! Then I would crumble into dust.

Cookie if anyone picks up on the reference.

My real last words would involve a groanworthy pun of the word escape.

If we are mark'd to die, we are enow
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires.
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more methinks would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Ramthundar, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call'd the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
Epic quote is epic. Then I'd just...never be heard from again.

Sigh...I suppose so.
Well, that's easily resolved.
You fools shall never be rid of me!
I will be an Escapist until I am so senile that I get myself banned while talking about how things used to be back in the days of green rain!
Any possibility of this happening early? It sounds like it would be amusing to watch, but I will be disappearing at some point after 2023, so I might miss it. And I don't want to miss something like that.

I'd probably say shoot some people in some awesome FPS, I doubt anyone is going to remember someone from a forum unless you've actually made friends with 'em which has happened to me onnnnnnnnly ...two or three times.

My point was that many people posting their last words to the escapist probably needn't do so. People like Max and NoMoreSanity should, because people know who they are and probably give a damn if they're going to leave. People like me and you - no one cares.
I don't think that is true at all. I know a lot of people on here who I have good conversation with, and I just recently hit up the IRC to see what that's all about, so I bet I will make some good connections there, too. I mean hell, I've been here over a year now, I'm sure a bunch of people know who I am!

It isn't all about post count and forum celebrities, this thread even gives people the chance who may not be as well known a chance to expand on why they come here and how they have benefited from it, just in a retroactive way, kind of. You have to realize as well that a lot of people with high post counts get those by posting irrelevant things in threads all the time, so nobody really gets to know them and what they stand for, they just know them as the person that has a high post count and always posts in threads, but with no real content.

If you want to be well known, it isn't so much how you post, but more what you post and who you have arguments or discussions with, and how well you make your points.

"I still hate you Internet Kraken"

Yup, that'd be a suitably pointless thing to leave behind. Done.

You'll never guess what I found in my sock last night! Go on, guess!

A flying shopping list!

I love Spongebob...

Anyways, my last words would be:

"You usually don't tell yourself goodnight, but, goodnight, sweet prince."
