Man, how do women deal with these, they're heavy." For someone who had an absolutely flat chest even a jump to a B-cup was a significant. She ignored the weight and pressed her head against his. Lucifer was behind Garrett in a second, his blade stabbing lightly into his back. Jason heard the knock however and was at the door a second after that. He opened the door to see Garrett standing there with Lucifer standing at his back.

He motioned for Lucifer to back down, and Garrett to come inside. Once Garrett and Jason were both comfortably inside, Lucifer left, sheathing his blade and slipping silently back into the forest.

"I apologize for that... Lucifer is a bit over-the-top when it comes to security." Jason said, putting out a hand.

Karen looked curiously at Dan "What?" Her eyes looked oddly inquisitive. She began going though the cupboards. She started pulling out some morphine. "I'll be needing some of this."

"I saw" Garret said looking around the house while shaking Jason's hand. "Kor said I could trust you, I believe him now, The enemy of my enemy is my friend"

"There is now weapons laying around... and hopefully no need for escape, although there is a door in the back that leads down a mountain trail. Emily has placed a shield around this house so that we cannot be attacked or infiltrated unless a person is welcome here... and considering that you have the only note that tells an outsider he is welcome, you are the only person besides us that can enter." Jason said, taking a seat on the couch and motioning for Garrett to continue looking around if he wished.

"I believe it would be best if Amaranth here told you. He has a way with words you see." Jason said, pointing to the shady looking character sitting in the corner of the room, having been silent this whole time.

"So the birds are our allies as well? Excellent, that would just be added security to make sure nothing can get near to our base."

"Quite silent" He murmured to himself as he transmitted to the blanks.

Patrol the area out of sight, tell me when people leave, or come in.

"Done" He said as multiple birds blinked into existence on the roof with a soft pattering sound.

Karen turned back. "Sorry, Sugar. I'm as queer as three dollar bill." She continued foraging through and pulled out a 19" serrated blade. "Douglas. I'm sorry you had to die. But this'll be your blade." A tear fell from her eye.

Dan chuckled slightly,
"It's not a problem. I have Jess. By the way, is Beat the only person you've ever loved?"
He hadn't noticed the tear.

Karen turned "I'm proficient in hand to hand, firearm, explosives and melee. That way I can legally arm you guys with military grade weapons if we get to this cities Merc compound I can also supply you with armour." She gave him another shot of her blood.
She brought up the blade and slashed it down into the counter. It sunk deep into the counter. She yanked it out "And I'll do it for free."

"Well it is theoretically working." She smirked. "Just sign here." she handed him a clipboard with the various scribblings. Her handwriting was neat and articulate, like that of a college major. Which was odd because she was killing people for a living.

Dan looked at Karen cautiously, but decided that because she was a friend, he woul sign the sheet. He did so and gagged.
"Thanks Karen."

Karen felt the warmth of his acceptance. She smiled. "No. Thank you."
"You should be good in an hour." She smiled and left to get some coffee.
