Gilbert stood beside Dante as the two stared down Lucifer. Both were exhausted, panting for breath and bleeding badly. They two looked at each other, and nodded, as if agreeing to some silent pact.
Dante moved forward as quickly as his battered legs would take him, firing missiles from his wrist launcher as he went. Once he got within range, he thrust forward with his arms to try and grab at the armored man.

Inside the building, Oliver, Lisa, and Charles sat on a musty old couch while the girl that had saved them sat in an elegant chair across from them. This was the first time Oliver got a good look at her. She was young, probably around 14 from his guess. She wore a shirt and jeans, but both were in surprisingly pristine condition considering the state of the area.
"So." She said. "What do you think you're doing on my front door, attracting all this attention?"
"No beating around the bush with you, I suppose." Oliver said.
"Shut up and answer." The girl replied. "I haven't even gotten your names yet."
"I'm Oliver. This is Lisa, and the unconscious man is Charles. We're with the Rat Pack."
"I see." The girl said, sipping a cup of tea she spontaneously had. "And what brings you here, with the military on your heels?"
"We're looking for you." Oliver said. Lisa turned to look at him with a curious look on her face. "You are Jayne Wilkes, aren't you?" Oliver asked.
The girl was silent, thinking about this. "Yes. I'm Jayne. Why did you come looking for me?"
"We need your help." Oliver said. "We've got a bigger threat than the military right now, and we have a way to get into their base. But there's a shield. We think you can get us through it."
"And how do you figure that?" Jayne asked.
"According to a friend of mine named Gaz, an old man from an antique shop told him you could."
"An old man--grandpa!" She said with a gasp. She stood up and opened the door. "All right, I'll help you. The bag I'm carrying has everything I need. Let's move."
