"I was kind of thinking where you and Emily where camping out. It would be safer than leaving me on my own, and... you want me to leave you alone, don't you?" Rachel said, smiling a little. He is a little cute, but he's just so damn emo. Maybe if he lightened up a little he would be better, but I wouldn't be surprised if he cuts himself at night.

"As you wish... it will probably be safer at our base after all..." Jason said, angling north so that he was flying on a direct path to the ruins of Jason's old mansion. As they flew North his mood brightened somewhat.

"Have you ever flown before?" Jason asked, looking at Rachel.

"You mean on a plane? No, not really. It's pretty easy to move when you can carry yourself and everything you own and fly it cross country in a few days for free." Rachel said, looking back at Jason. Weird. Right after that goon disappeared Jason is a lot happier. Maybe I need to have a chat with that guy in armor...

"Your probably wondering why I'm happier now? You must understand... I need to keep composure when around my allies, I need to act strong. The only problem is that I'm still only 20 years old, and if I was human I'd be partying in a penthouse in a big city." Jason said, not really even knowing what she was thinking, but feeling a need to explain his sporadic mood swings.

Rachel was taken aback a little by the statement. "I guess that makes sense, but... you look plenty human to me. If you mean the thing with the dragon, that wouldn't exactly be the strangest power I've ever seen." She said. Don't tell me he's a mind reader too. There's like five of them in this city alone...

"So... if you don't mind me asking, what happened to you while you were with Garret?" Jason asked, as if he didn't want to press the question, but he wasn't going to be sad if she answered.

"He tried to convince me to help him kill Oliver and you. He threatened to shoot me in the knees and said he would mess with my head to make me a slave, but he just kind of stopped, for some reason. I think it was before the two of you made a deal, but I would still keep an eye on him if I were you." Rachel said, moving her head closer to Jason's chest. I wonder why he's so worried about me, He wasn't a minutes ago. Not that that's a bad thing...

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Shadow sat down and flipped open the files. "Let's see who we got here" His voice was unconcerned and even as he eyed page through page of the files. "Who do we have here..."

"That's terrible... Are you okay?" Jason asked, flapping his wings which took them up higher into the clouds.

Jason felt some kind of connection with Rachel now, even though they had only known each other for a short time. He couldn't really explain it, but he wanted her to be safe now more than ever.

Indrakshi looked around and stretched. She yawned as she mumbled "Where am I?" Her eye's focused as she stumbled around the base looking for something... something...

"Yeah, I'm fine." Rachel's smile widened, and she looked up at Jason. Maybe... he's not so bad, after all. "Anyway, how did it go with Garret? He going to keep attacking you?" She said, nudging herself closer to Jason. Yeah, he's alright.

"How are you?" Douglas said as he rubbed his eyes and saw Indrakshi wandering around. "What feels different?"

Garret stared at the wall of his office. Hmmm, things could get complicated soon, if Jason attacks me with Rachel, hopefully after oliver is gone, I can overwhelm him with numbers maybe, I don't trust him, not one bit He thought

Kor was thinking about his life alone in his room. A daughter... Just feels weird I suppose, I wonder if raising her will be hear or in a better place. I want to stay with garret, he did raise me and save me life.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Indrakshi jumped "Ummm... hello. How are you, sir?" She felt that he was definitely familiar. But where did she know him from?

Douglas laughed "Nice one Indra" He said with a grin. "Want to go get some breakfast?"

"Yes shadow?" Garret said into his radio as it jolted him from his thoughts

Indrakshi looked around. "Who is that? How do you know me?" She started to tear up as she stepped back.

"Could you figure out what they are planning, Maybe pretend to be a lost survivor, be sure to remove your courier cap." Garret said into his radio as he leaned forwards.

Oh god this can't be happening Douglas stepped forward. "We are sort of involved, you just went through a surgery to remove your nullism" Douglas said

"Probably... I know he doesn't trust me... Lucifer could tell almost immediately. It doesn't matter though... I'll leave after I'm done with Oliver... or I won't leave at all." Jason said, implying the same thing he had said four years ago.

He gave Rachel a tighter hug, and began to descend. He let his wings take him down slowly, gliding down to the ruined mansion.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Indrakshi sort of relaxed. "Were we?" She cocked her head and leaned in. "Are you sure?" Her eyes bugged. "Douglas! Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" She tackled him.

Shadow smirked and pulled out a small pistol he put in to his shoulder and fired twice. "GAAH!" He tucked the pistol into his waist band and headed towards the base.

Douglas smiled with relief and hugged her. "What happened?" He said into her ear.

A single crow perched over a dead body and we feeding on it. It looked up slightly and tracked Shadow's movements.
