The hissing demon yielded for a moment, making a groan as its hands was sliced off by the black blade. The smoking hand fell to the ground before disappearing into ash. The demon, displeased, used its remaining four hands to concentrate a powerful flurry in Indrakshi's direction.

The demon struggled for a moment, before violently ripping itself free of the stones, scattering them across the room. It wasted no time in talking and leaped across the room, aiming a kick towards Tef's stomach.

Gaz was knocked to the ground by the smoke, only to be blinded by the explosion as Garret escaped. He and May fell into coughing fits, only to be interrupted by Shadow kissing May's hand and disappearing. "I'm married you freak." was all she muttered as she helped Gaz up.

"How's the battle going?" She asked him.

"All too well." Gaz responded. "We've got illusionists sending decoy soldiers all around the field, distracting most of their snipers. The trees are cinders, and the rock monsters are getting jammed up from something long enough to kill them. We don't have enough manpower to take the fight into the mountains, though."

"Well, the second wave should be here soon. Then we'll end this."

"Then you weren't paying attention." Oliver told Jason coldly. "Dan told you exactly where your sister was. You could have gone and seen her, none of this had to happen. But you didn't make that choice; it's time to own up for your mistakes. Everyone made sacrifices that night. Max risked death to resist Gray, May sent a dozen of her troops to their deaths hoping it would help, Dan gave his body to a demonic lord to even the odds. I nearly died trying to protect you."

Indrakshi dodged and evaded the flurry of blows and smirked. She was about to slash at the deamon but a loud bang one of the scythe blades shattered.

Karen smirked violently as she casually tossed the one shot pistol aside. She then dropped down and grinned evilly "Stand back Sister. I'll handle it from here. Nano-tech, activate the Karen reaper." Her arm morphed into a metal claw similiar to her old prosthetic. "Come, worm! You will see why they call me the Deamon-kin!"

"Well its too bad you didn't let me die that night isn't it?" Jason asked, raising his palm, a dark orb shining with dark intent.

The orb opened up, flames rushing intently towards Oliver, rising up thirty feet in the air and twenty feet across. Jason knew that it wasn't going to damage Oliver, but he wanted to stop talking and finish this already.

Lucifer grabbed Renegade's arm with lightning speed, and aimed a slice with his clawed gauntlet towards Renegade's head.

The hissing demon looked at Karen with a curious look when she said "deamon-kin". It reached out with its mind, attempting to bond with her to find out if she spoke the truth.

The residual particles of Oliver's energy in the air combined to form a shield around him, the flames washing over it harmlessly. The shield went down and Oliver started talking again.

"It's not too late, Jason. We don't have to do this."

[hr]

Renegade's second arm shot up, coated in enough energy to wholly dampen the effects of Lucifer's blow. He then slung the arm around Lucifer's, and swung him around to toss him into the air, then launched a series of dark missiles at him.

He's fast. And he's tough to hurt too. Better stock than most of the meta-humans around here. Wonder how he got those powers?

"Isn't it? There can be no repentance for what I have done. Now stop talking and fight, this will be the last time we have to fight one another." Jason said, drawing his longsword and waiting for Oliver to make a move.

Lucifer spun in the air, slicing clean through the missiles with his gauntlets. There was a little explosion which left Lucifer's armor only a little blackened. Lucifer landed lightly, and kicked off the ground aiming straight for Renegade.

Karen's mind had become murky and bleak. Ever since Beat's death her mind had twisted into an unimaginably brutal mass of hatred and spite. She scowled as she felt the deamon's mind intrude in her mind. She did not resist to it though she was quite curious about it.

Shadow smirked as he brought another blade of smoke down and hacked an enemy soldier to pieces. "For Goshuujin-sama!"

Oliver still stood there, appearing to have no inclination to attack. "I can tell you want to fight, Jason. But as your friend, it's my obligation to give you one last chance. If you don't want to take it, then attack. But if you do, I'm not holding back."

Renegade watched as Lucifer approached, but only stood there, smirking. He nodded to his left, as if to indicate something. Suddenly, Lucifer was tackled to the ground by none other than Buck, who immediately took the opportunity to try and rip off the man's helmet.

He's called for help. Charles observed rather unhelpfully. Has Jason gotten the time he needs yet?

The hissing demon probed deeper, searching through Karen's memories, starting from the beginning.

Shadow was met by a young man in a hoodie, concealing himself. He reached forward, and an astral hand shot out to try and punch him.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Shadow jumped back barely avoiding the hand. He sent a quick trio of razor sharp smoke knives out of his hands and followed it up with a hammer-blow strike to the back of the head.

Karen shifted uncomfortably as the deamon sifted through her memories. Her first humiliation... the landmine that maimed her... her hateful father... everything.

"So what? You'd just let me go free?" Jason asked, making no move to lower his blade, yet not making a move to attack yet either.

Nobody saw Lucifer's face, because the moment Buck ripped off Lucifer's helmet Lucifer reacted like a caged animal. He flipped backwards, kicking the helmet out of Buck's hands, and caught it a second later. Lucifer hastily put the helmet on, but not before everyone saw bright yellow eyes and scaly green skin.

Jason has not yet had the time he needs, I need to stall for a little longer... Lucifer then ripped his blade out of the ground, and held it out before him, waiting for someone to attack.

The man in the hoodie suddenly disappeared, turning intangible as Shadow's attacks went through him. When he was finished, the man re-appeared and pulled out a pistol, firing a quartet of shots at him.

The demon remained unimpressed. Pain was something that demons could not feel. If she were truly demon-kin, she would have grown it back. Her father would have been a stain on the wall. Still curious, however, he moved on, examining the events after that.

"I can't let you leave, Jason." Oliver said. "You know that. But you can still pick the right side. Fight for good instead of evil."

[hr]

Renegade looked at Lucifer oddly. "Guess you have a bit of an image issue. Buck, get that helmet off again, and keep it off this time."

Buck nodded, and went for the head with a leaping attack.

 

[Moderationintime]

Tef gave a weak laugh as a stone pillar shot up and blocked the demon's kick. "You can not attack me in my own abode, the laws will always be in place" Tef said as he calmly opened the door and let Kor out. Kor soared through the sky and perched next to garret. "It seems your friends have made an attack on the forest, I am afraid I will have to make my appearance now" Tef flew out on a floating disk and landed in the middle of a few rat pack soldiers burning down trees. "Please stop" Tef said

Garret examined his suit and decided the pun on a new helmet, keeping the scorpion mask underneath. "They will come soon" A warrior dressed almost identically as garret said. There were a few of these men "Ronin, we shall be ready"

Garret gazed out as decoys came out. Garret pondered for a moment and then decided. "Bring out the heavy stuff" He said to a line of men, the men walked forwards and drew out artillery pieces and rocket launchers. The men started raining explosive shells randomly across the field at patches of enemies

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Karen felt the sadness approaching. Her master's disappearance... the brutal murder of her father and the kids at her school. The glee of love and the pleasure of being a mercenary. it felt exquisite. Then... a picture flashed to her. An abandoned chainsaw.

Shadow immediatly responded by shifting into smoke. Dodging the bullets by a hairs-width and made a slash against the hodied man.

"And when that's all over? I doubt you'd let me leave after that either, so I'm going to have to decline your offer." Jason said, readying for an attack.

Lucifer snarled, ducking aside of Buck's attack, and aiming upward with a cut that would easily cut him in half. He seemed to be moving quicker, and seemed to be more powerful than a few seconds earlier.

Lucifer still wasn't using his full power either.

The grinning demon walked out from the small hovel, catching one of Garret's soldiers and ripping him in half without breaking stride. He marched after Tef, who was responded to by one of the Rat Pack.

"Stop? The hell you thinking, tellin' us to stop? You see these damn trees? They're fucking us up, we're burnin' 'em down when they try! It's self defense!"

The Rat Pack's forces, drained by about a third now, ducked into cover when the artillery began, only losing a few men. The demons responded in kind, dozens of flying monstrosities meeting the artillery and beginning to tear them apart. They were joined by Gaz, who flew up and began to detonate the artillery shells as they were being loaded, taking out several guns this way.

The hissing demon was pleased. Violence was a tolerable action, and her mercenary work suited one who made claims such as her. He delved even deeper, seeking more knowledge, so that he could complete his plan.

The hooded man ducked, the attack barely missing him and cutting off a few of his hairs, even. He extended his arm, a massive astral fist shooting forth to try and put some distance between the two.

Oliver took a breath, and conjured an elegant longsword in his right hand. "Fine, then. I've tried, Jason. Attack, so I can finish this."

[hr]

Buck stepped back, Lucifer's attack nearly cutting him but missing slightly. While Lucifer was distracted, Renegade darted forth and attacked him with a solid blast to the torso.

Jason nodded, darting forward and starting off with a swift uppercut to Oliver's chest. Jason didn't really want to hurt Oliver, and he was beginning to understand that everything Jason had been told up until this point was a lie.

Lucifer took the blow head on, sliding back a few inches with only a scorch mark on his breastplate. He aimed another, faster slice to Renegade's chest, while making sure Buck couldn't sneak up on him.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Karen opened her eyes violently severing the bonds between her and the deamon. Karen grinned "I believe this is battlefield, no?"

Shadow obliged the hoodied man and dodged the hand by jumping back. He however drew his revolver and fired off shot at him. "Come on at least tell me your name."

"Maybe if you stopped fighting in the forest the tree's wouldn't be trying to kill you?" Tef said as a tree lumbered towards him. Tef placed a hand on the scorched things(Face) and it stopped attacking. "Bring your fight upwards instead"

"Lets do this Ronin" Garret said as he ran a demon through with ease and began running down the hill with his sword out with the other similarly outfitted Samurai. He chopped through a decoy and into a rat pack commander.
