Ace looked up at Alex. "Hey..." He opened his bag and pulled out a katana. "Try slashing it, if it works it should send a sort of air slash forwards..." He pointed at a tree. "Try using it on that from a few steps back..."
Jason landed softly outside of the house and entered through the back door quietly just in case Rachel was sleeping now. He made his way to his office and threw his stuff down, conjuring up his mask and placing it back inside of its safe. He sighed, closing the safe and making sure it was locked before returning returning to the living room to see that Rachel was still awake.
"Hey Rachel... sorry about earlier but you know how it is..." Jason sighed, laying down on the couch and closing his eyes.
"No... I won't, even if it is only temporery, I won't kill. I just won't." He sighed. "It's just who I am... I won't lose sight of who I am, no matter what."
Rachel smiled at Jason. "I understand, sweety. Oh, and, huh, Jason... I invited Xandus to stay with us while he's in town. I hope you don't mind..." She trailed off, half expecting Jason to be furious. I tried to tell him earlier... but I can always just make him leave. Besides, Jason's not like that... She sat next to Jason's legs and waited for a response.
"That's fine... Jean's free to come and go as he pleases as long as he doesn't mess with you. So when did you meet Jean today?" Jason asked, sitting up and giving Rachel a hug.
He still felt bad that he just took of without any warning, and now he was going to try and make up for it. Jason thought he heard someone in the backroom, and he assumed it was just Xandus.
Rachel hugged Jason back. "Don't worry. He won't do anything. At least not with you around." she kissed Jason and moved up against him. "I just ran into Jean. You know that big crash? I went to go see if everyone was alright, and he showed up, too. I guess it was just a coincidence." She leaned against Jason, putting her head on his shoulder. Well, I hope Jean isn't stupid enough to try anything with me while Jason is still around to roast his ass. I wouldn't put it past him, though...
"You're a girl aren't you? That's what I thought when I met you..." He lay back down. "You wanna know what's bugging me? It's this kid. He looked only seven or eight and he tried to kill people. I started thinking why, then I realized. This kid... I find there's only two plausable reasons... He was homeless, either his parents abondoned him or his parents were killed. He lived on the streets, tormented cus of his powers. People drove him insane, they filled him with so much hate that he became a killer. I can't decide... Who's the badguy in all of this...? The kid was only young! Do you know what he called himself?! Demon Child! People treated him like he was a monster so much, that he ended up believing that he was one!!!"
"That's what he called himself. Demon Child. He couldn't remember his name, or he was never given one, so because people kept calling him that it became his name. He became a monster, a killer... Not for money... Not for fun... But because people, normal average everyday people, convinced him he was one. Makes me angry..."
Ace blushed for a moment. "I... Uh... I don't know where he was taken, I flew off before they took him away... But... I dunno." He grabbed the Air-Katana and put it back. "Thanks, you know for testing out my sword an' all. See ya around Alex." He got onto his board. "Good luck with all your endevors..." He flew off, heading back into town. "Hmmmmmm..."
Hivemind gasped. "I... need to find... a power... source." 5% power remaining. He couldn't rely on his H.u.d. He gasped in joy as he stumbled across a power line. "Thank god!" He sat down next to the line and gripped it tightly. He could feel the electricity coursing through his veins as the Nano-bots greedily devoured the energy.
Ace saw Hive grab onto the power line. "What the...?" He flew down to meet him. "You OK man? What in the name of science are you doing?!" He had a puzzeled look on his face. "You sure that's a safe way to recharge? You could find something safer..."
Hivemind's voice had a bit of a quiver to it. "Yeah. The nano-bot's hyper insulate my body so its nearly impossible to electrocute me." He gave a weak laugh. "That volt of electricity took a lot more out of me than I would have hoped." He closed one of his eyes and ran diagnostics. "88% power. Its too bad I can't set them to sleep. Karen could. But I was never very good at that sort of thing." He slowly got up. "Alright. Back in business." His voice sounded rather weak.
"Huh... Those nanobots consume allot of energy... Hey do you want to go do something together I'm kinda bored..." He sat down on the board. "Totally not a pun, or at least it wasn't supposed to be... Anywho yeah, wanna go do something?"
