"Nurse A.Charmer please come to the service desk? Nurse A.Charmer?"
Analiese sighed as she started to walk towards the front desk of the small hospital she had been working in. The town of Bright Grove wasn't as big as her home town, but she revelled in the peace she found there. 'Yeah, peace and quiet... Not likely to get either here...' She sighed. The hospital staff had become lazy in the past few months. Because Analiese could heal so many patients in a short period of time, they put more and more pressure upon her. It did give her a sense of pride though... Being relied upon for her own skill, rather than being the shadow was a refreshing change from the life of an abused sidekick.
On approaching the front desk Ana examined the older nurse in front of her. Her hair was loose and from the looks of the dark rings around her eyes she had been awake for too long.
Ana coughed slightly to get the woman's attention, resulting in the nurse letting out a soft cry of surprise.
"Oh... Nurse Charmer... Sorry, I'm just so tired... You startled me." The woman smiled. Ana had been in a bad mood for being interrupted whilst listening in to the local police radio (hey, old habits die hard), but seeing how tired and jumpy the woman was, her heart melted...
"What can I do for you, Nurse? You look tired, do you need to rest?" As the nurse smiled up at her, Ana discreetly placed her hand on the woman's arm, giving her some of her energy, she looked so tired, it was unhealthy.
"Would you mind sitting here for a while dear? All you need to do is sign in patients and collect their data... I felt so run down a moment ago...Suddenly I feel better, but just to be sure I think I should have a small break..." She stood on shaky legs, she had to be one of the oldest staff members at 82 years old. Ana had looked into most of their files. She would know.
"That's fine," she replied in a sweet voice, helping the woman up. "You take as long as you need, I can handle things up here." She pulled a heroic face to prove that she could take care of things.
"Thank you dear..." The old woman said, toddling off.
Sigh...At least I can get some work done, and I can listen to my music...
Ana blasted her music through her head phones. It wasn't too often that a patient would come in, and if one did they would surely notice her head phones...
It had been almost an hour when Ana suddenly noticed the smell of burning flesh, and it was strong. She peered over her computer screen. A boy with light brown hair and bright blue eyes stood before the counter, talking about something that she couldn't hear. She took her head phones off and stood in time to hear; "He didn't lose too much blood..." That's when Ana noticed the man beside the boy. He looked to be about 30 years old, he was unconscious and looked like he had lost a substantial amount of blood.
Her eyes widened as she saw a knife of some kind protruding from the man's body, and some large sheaths hanging off of the boy next to him. She came to the immediate conclusion that these too had fought each other.
She exited the front desk and rounded on the boy, he was her age and looked fairly strong, but she was not intimidated at all.
"What on earth do you think you are doing!?" She shrieked, not even caring that the boy had dropped the injured man on the floor. "Don't you dare bring your violent ways in here! What did you do to this poor man!" She quickly called to two paramedics using her head set.
"He was a freaking super villain! What did you expect me to do?" He said defiantly.
"Well then you should have dealt with him else where!" Ana said, giving him a swift punch on the top of his head. No small feet considering she was much shorter than he was. The boy looked shocked and she immediately regretted harming him.
Ashe just looked at her, 'The Hell?' he took a step back, knocking the one legged and crying man on the floor out of his way. When he was far enough away, he pulled out a short sword and pointed it at her chest, making the blade lightly touch her skin. "Never. Ever. Do that again" he stated in a commanding voice.
He took a step back again, taking the blade off her chest. He put the blade away, placing it back in its sheath around his chest. He turned around, believing her to be of no threat to him and walked away, "Make sure you treat him instead of leaving him on the floor"
"Firstly, the paramedics are currently on there way." As if on cue the two paramedics ran through the door with stretcher in hand. "And secondly, do not presume to have any control over me. If I want to punch you on the head I will when ever I please. And what can you do? Either sue me or stab me. The first wont happen, as far as this town is concerned I don't exist, even this Hospital will deny knowledge of me, and the second? Well. would you really harm an unarmed woman?"
