"Huh, interesting friend you got there, Magus," Umbra said after Alex left. An honest immortal... and that cloak, did it actually follow the reincarnated body? Huh. Even if it isn't 'useful for combat', Alex doesn't have to worry about being injured, since they can simply die afterward... Speaking of injuries. Suddenly minding her hand, Umbra asked, "Would that offer for healing agents still be on the table? I have a feeling I'll need my right hand to be ready soon."

"Oh yes of course," said Magus as he began scrambling the reagents together, "Just a moment."

Magus made an unnecessarily large show of mixing the ingredients together - complete with a green plume of smoke popping out of the concoction at the end. Without stopping to give Umbra a chance to take in all of that, Magus pours the strange potion onto Umbra's burnt arm. The burnt flesh appears to fly off of her arm, revealing new healthy skin underneath, the pain completely gone.

"One thing," he explained, "I can't actually heal you, but I did everything I could for you. I've taken away all of the pain that your arm was giving you, and I removed the appearance of the injury so that it doesn't disturb you. Your arm should be fully healed by the time my potion wears off... which will be a few days."

To emphasize his point, Magus gently took hold of Umbra's arm and kissed it, where his lips had been, a strange glowing rune appeared.

"Don't worry," said Magus, "Only you and I can see it... and... well... I will have to tell you what it means later."

Magus turned away from Umbra a little too quickly, and made a grand show of opening a door outside of his house, leading to the back-alley behind a local Cafe. Magus offered his hand to escort Umbra out.

"Shall we?" he asked amicably.

Umbra raised an eyepatch-and-mask-hidden eyebrow, amused by Magus's actions. A regular Casanova, huh? Though he is acting a slight bit odd... nerves, maybe? Eyeing the strange rune, though, added to her amusement was suspicion. Now that IS odd, I guess I'll have to keep my guard up. No reason not to play along/continue with it for now, though. Smiling underneath her mask, she presented her arm, overacting slightly. "I would be delighted."

Is Magus doing anything untoward? The cynic in me is laughing at the subtext.

I'm role-playing as a guy, you're role-playing as a girl. When I write for Magus, I'm not thinking the way I think. I am not acting the way I would act. I am acting and thinking as Magus would.

Magus gently took hold of Umbra's hand, and led her out into the street.

"Er..." said Magus, "Where were we going again? I'm a little new to this town."

Oh, that I knew. I was just wondering if there were some unusual motives at work, some subtleties to feed Umbra's paranoia.

"Oh, I thought you had somewhere in mind. What did you want to do?" she asked, looking around a bit to place them. Ah, here we are. Not too far from my place, oddly.

The only motive that Magus usually has for betraying anyone is if he's in a hurry to escape his past; and someone gets in his way. There is one thing you could do that should set off both characters' paranoia: have Umbra try to ask Magus about his past at some point.

"Well..." Magus paused, like his mentor, he was never really good with this sort of thing - so he went for the most obvious answer, "Dinner?"

Ah. I was aware already, but I saw the possibility of less noble efforts being concealed as such. Also, since my internet's bad, this is the fourth time I've typed this now.

"Oh, I thought you had someplace in mind," Umbra replied. "Where did you want to go?" Looking around, she placed where they were. Huh, not too far from my place, actually. Odd...

Magus looked into Umbra's eyes with concern. As if he could sense the redundancy in Umbra's thoughts.

"Are you okay?" he asked, "Anyway... like I said, I don't know much about this town... I was hoping you'd have some recommendations."

Im really sorry everyone, I forgot how fast paced this rp is, and it's been moving way too fast for me with my school and all. Im going to have to drop out, apologies to all for wasting some of your time.

Umbra decided it wise not to voice her reservations, instead opting for a half-truth. "Oh, everything's fine. I was just trying to figure out where we were. We're actually behind a good cafe, if you're hungry."

Mind if we just kill your character off?

Magus nodded, and smiled in a way he thought... or rather hoped was comforting... one thing his mentor never taught him... and never could... was how to socialize.

"Okay then," he said, "Let's just eat at this little cafe then."

Magus leads Umbra to the cafe and pulls a chair for her at an empty table. A waiter comes by and takes their orders. Unsure what to order, Magus just orders a soda for the time being.

Finally noticing that Umbra is on edge, he decides to do the only thing he can think of to put her at ease. He makes a few quick gestures, and his cloak is replaced with a normal suit, slacks, and tie; and his staff becomes a cane. He then hands Umbra his "cane".

"Here," he said as he handed the cane over, "This contains much of my power, while you can't use it yourself... no one can... as long as I'm not holding that staff, a large portion of my power is in your hands."

Well, that was honestly just a double-post I didn't notice, but I'm leaving it. Shadow powers might let that be a plot point. Also, lack of region makes ordering annoying.

Umbra graciously accepted the seat, getting a soda as well. Observing Magus's transformation, she noted,"Very impressive," Taking the cane with her good hand, she looked it over in detail, a bit of awe in her voice. And he trusts me with it... I can't believe I thought he was up to something. "Why...?" Why trust me with it?

"Nurse A.Charmer please come to the service desk? Nurse A.Charmer?"
Analiese sighed as she started to walk towards the front desk of the small hospital she had been working in. The town of Bright Grove wasn't as big as her home town, but she revelled in the peace she found there. 'Yeah, peace and quiet... Not likely to get either here...' She sighed. The hospital staff had become lazy in the past few months. Because Analiese could heal so many patients in a short period of time, they put more and more pressure upon her. It did give her a sense of pride though... Being relied upon for her own skill, rather than being the shadow was a refreshing change from the life of an abused sidekick.

On approaching the front desk Ana examined the older nurse in front of her. Her hair was loose and from the looks of the dark rings around her eyes she had been awake for too long.
Ana coughed slightly to get the woman's attention, resulting in the nurse letting out a soft cry of surprise.
"Oh... Nurse Charmer... Sorry, I'm just so tired... You startled me." The woman smiled. Ana had been in a bad mood for being interrupted whilst listening in to the local police radio (hey, old habits die hard), but seeing how tired and jumpy the woman was, her heart melted...
"What can I do for you, Nurse? You look tired, do you need to rest?" As the nurse smiled up at her, Ana discreetly placed her hand on the woman's arm, giving her some of her energy, she looked so tired, it was unhealthy.
"Would you mind sitting here for a while dear? All you need to do is sign in patients and collect their data... I felt so run down a moment ago...Suddenly I feel better, but just to be sure I think I should have a small break..." She stood on shaky legs, she had to be one of the oldest staff members at 82 years old. Ana had looked into most of their files. She would know.
"That's fine," she replied in a sweet voice, helping the woman up. "You take as long as you need, I can handle things up here." She pulled a heroic face to prove that she could take care of things.
"Thank you dear..." The old woman said, toddling off.

Sigh...At least I can get some work done, and I can listen to my music...

Ana blasted her music through her head phones. It wasn't too often that a patient would come in, and if one did they would surely notice her head phones...

It had been almost an hour when Ana suddenly noticed the smell of burning flesh, and it was strong. She peered over her computer screen. A boy with light brown hair and bright blue eyes stood before the counter, talking about something that she couldn't hear. She took her head phones off and stood in time to hear; "He didn't lose too much blood..." That's when Ana noticed the man beside the boy. He looked to be about 30 years old, he was unconscious and looked like he had lost a substantial amount of blood.
Her eyes widened as she saw a knife of some kind protruding from the man's body, and some large sheaths hanging off of the boy next to him. She came to the immediate conclusion that these too had fought each other.

She exited the front desk and rounded on the boy, he was her age and looked fairly strong, but she was not intimidated at all.
"What on earth do you think you are doing!?" She shrieked, not even caring that the boy had dropped the injured man on the floor. "Don't you dare bring your violent ways in here! What did you do to this poor man!" She quickly called to two paramedics using her head set.

"He was a freaking super villain! What did you expect me to do?" He said defiantly.
"Well then you should have dealt with him else where!" Ana said, giving him a swift punch on the top of his head. No small feet considering she was much shorter than he was. The boy looked shocked and she immediately regretted harming him.

Ashe just looked at her, 'The Hell?' he took a step back, knocking the one legged and crying man on the floor out of his way. When he was far enough away, he pulled out a short sword and pointed it at her chest, making the blade lightly touch her skin. "Never. Ever. Do that again" he stated in a commanding voice.

He took a step back again, taking the blade off her chest. He put the blade away, placing it back in its sheath around his chest. He turned around, believing her to be of no threat to him and walked away, "Make sure you treat him instead of leaving him on the floor"

"Firstly, the paramedics are currently on there way." As if on cue the two paramedics ran through the door with stretcher in hand. "And secondly, do not presume to have any control over me. If I want to punch you on the head I will when ever I please. And what can you do? Either sue me or stab me. The first wont happen, as far as this town is concerned I don't exist, even this Hospital will deny knowledge of me, and the second? Well. would you really harm an unarmed woman?"

"I believe you're wondering," Magus began, "Why I'm trusting you with that. Well, for one thing... only I can actually use it... but more than that, I was hoping to put you at ease a bit by letting you hold onto it while I am not in urgent need of it."

Ace sat on the side of a building with the board next to him, swing his legs forwards and backwards. "What could cause a kid to turn into a killer...?" The thought of the kid made Ace shudder. "He looked homeless... Maybe he lost his parents..." Ace thought about how he could of been living on the streets too if it wasn't for Lloyd. "Or maybe his parents chucked him out 'cus of his powers..." Ace knew that sick people like that existed in the world, he hated them as much as anything and he believed they were the same as the ciminals he would fight. "Some people are sick... Just plain sick..."

INCOMING CALL read the words that appeared in the top left corner of Ace's helmet followed quickly by ringing. Ace looked at his helmet, which was beside him, and picked it up before pressing a button on the outside of it. "Yes, Alex... What is it...?" He sounded as gloomy as he was feeling, which at the moment was very gloomy.

"Yeah sure... Meet me just outside town, at the hill... Oh and its just... Never mind... See you in a bit." He stood up, grabbed his board and got on it then flew off in the direction of his house. When he got there he picked up a green backpack, went back outside and flew off to the hill he and Alex were supposed to meet. He sat down at the top and waited for Alex to arrive.
