This reminds me when I guy I used to live with tried to pirate the PC version of FEZ a year before the PC version was even announced by and I kid you not googling 'FEZ PC DOWNLOAD' and clicking the first link in sight. He got what he deserved.
Because we gotta set an EXAMPLE of them, BBB.Blood Brain Barrier said:Actually, pirates are renegade sailors who raid and steal ships.Dragonbums said:That's funny.
How exactly are pirates being punished here?
Last time I checked, pirates hackers and code monkeys that crack games and software programs, so others can use.
The people who acquire these files afterwards are not "pirates" in any real sense.
So no. Pirates aren't getting what they deserve because they are happily playing their PC version of GTA V that they probably cracked on their console.
On topic, I fail to see how identity theft of a 14 year old kid with acne and $35 in his bank account is profitable for these people. People who can't afford a game and who have to resort to copying it aren't exactly the best target for fraud.
You sir deserve all the internets.....Sarge034 said:AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! It's the punishment pirates deserve AND the one they get. This made my day. Perfect time to whip this one out. It's been a while...
"You'll get no sympathy from me. You want sympathy, look in the dictionary between shit and syphilis. That's where you'll find my sympathy." Major Payne (1995)
There's almost certainly a PC, Xbone, and PS4 version to be released soon enough.Quellist said:I find it hard to feel any sympathy at all at the kind of brain donors that would believe a secret version of GTA5 exists.
Soon enough is not now. Seeing as Rock star haven't even officially announced that it will be available for PC, I would personally view any supposed pirate PC version with the deepest of suspicion.gnihton said:There's almost certainly a PC, Xbone, and PS4 version to be released soon enough.Quellist said:I find it hard to feel any sympathy at all at the kind of brain donors that would believe a secret version of GTA5 exists.
Not sure if this has been said, but surely if it's just view numbers and not download numbers, someone could make a bot to auto-view the thread to push it up on page rankings and such. It's entirely possible to create a page on the internet with 100million views that no real person has ever seen.Ultratwinkie said:It hasn't.Toadfish1 said:Its fascinating to me that PC gamers can look at a situation like this, and think it hasn't taken GTA V on PC off the table. Like, millions of gamers instantly pirating GTA V doesn't show why the dev would be wasting their time porting to the console.
You know, you are allowed to make a distinction between what you want to happen, and what is likely to happen.
GTA V on consoles was pirated 4 days before release with 86 million views. That's just on xbox alone. Even then, the PC version is already done if you look into the data files, and it was the lead platform so they can easily port it to next gen consoles. R is just waiting, and fixing online so the real next gen versions can have a seamless experience.
Console piracy is huge, now its even bigger than PC piracy. The most pirated PC game barely reach 3-4 million and that was spore. GTA V has 86 million views, so how can you say the PC is worse?
I imagine the people responsible for this would flood fake torrents.TopazFusion said:But secondly, when GTA5 gets released on the PC, it's possible it might become the most pirated PC game in history.
Dumb ass noob pirates are still pirates. Also, the irony is dripping from this situation. Pirates get infected with malware and have their information stolen when they try to steal a game that is about stealing shit and how things can go wrong when you steal shit.Antigonius said:I hate to spoil the fun for you, but that's not punishing pirates. That's punishing morons and teenagers. True pirates download emulators and play it on PC anyway))))
Anyway, still funny as hell)
P.C. I also like that the console fanboys are coming here like carrion birds on a corpse to boast on PC. Such childish and immature, that this is even more funnier)

OT: Yep...
got what they deserved...
Not much more to add other than the guy quoted being glorious...
Proverbial Jon said:I agree completely with those who say downloaders of this "game" got exactly what was coming to them. If you know enough about computers to pirate a game then you should also know about the harmful kinds of software.
How do people still fall for these schemes in this day and age?
The question is, this- views are views. Millions of people can view a file, but never download it. So how many people actually downloaded it?Ultratwinkie said:It hasn't.Toadfish1 said:Its fascinating to me that PC gamers can look at a situation like this, and think it hasn't taken GTA V on PC off the table.
