I couldn't be arsed with fancy-fied learning, so I just try to read them until I memorize them, like I did with Englrish.
eg. あ=握手,い=胃炎, う=宇宙人, え=えいみん, お=おくじょう, etc

What was your first language? What other languages do you know? How old were you and how old are you now?

R = L

La Li Lu Le Lo

Mind = blown.
I was also waiting for this too XD
I thought its because they said it so fast, it would sound like L instead of R
eg. るるるるるる~ would sound somewhat like rulululululu~

Interesting thread, bookmarking it like everyone else, and I'd really like to learn. Don't really have the time or dedication for learning languages though. Maybe if I had more free time.

Edit: No matter what, I'm pretty sure I'll never get around to reading and writing this. Asian symbols always put me off. It's easier to learn Viet (not really)

Dude D: go download some language CD's and burn em. You'd be surprised how much time you waste listening to music and then forgetting your entire drive. Seriously, go do it.

We'll be covering vocab maybe tomorrow because everyone knows how to study for the written language. I don't want people who only want to speak it to wait.

You are super lucky you learned it at a young age. Learning a second language is always good. It opens so many doors. Now you can surf the Chinese internets :O (or whatever remains >.>)

I'm just getting good at Italian, so I'm pretty much at my language-capacity right now. However, I will be looking back at this thread later, since it isn't helping my procrastination problem right now.

hope this isn't too big of a cluster. I capitalized the first two word's pronounciation so you could see how the Japanese letters work. I won't be giving anymore words out today but I'll tell you how to use them tomorrow. There is also a 2 pages more in the next chapter...so...I'll probably just scan it and link the image. What's the code for showing images?

Well, I can surf chinese internets that's in traditional chinese... I can read SOME! simplified, but not as efficient.
So I'm somewhat being binded to Taiwan sites and some Japanese sites that comes with a little Taiwan flag.*Points at nicovid*

^ Maybe はい should be in there since いいえ is already there. :x
