You can tack a number on the back of anything and call it a sequel.Zefar said:That kind of reasoning is wrong.Snotnarok said:It's not a sequel because all of the content you listed there was content they had promised and announced for Left 4 Dead 1 prior to it's release, but it has not come out, and will not come out. They insisted they wanted to do Team Fortress 2 like support, and they have not so I can't consider it a sequel. I don't want to hear "Well you can't see the future, so how do you know support will end" because they're already moving on to a sequel with improved graphics, AI and such and the content is already put in another game. They promised content and didn't follow through, and instead are releasing a $50.00 expansion pack.
Promised content:

I'm not buying it, I don't expect Valve to release L4D2 for free, I don't want them to release it for free, but I'm not buying what they called "Team Fortress 2 like support" for 50 bucks. I have other games on my list that aren't the extras that were meant for another game.
You can buy what you want, I was stating what I felt, and I feel that Left 4 Dead 2 is a $50.00 expansion pack that I can do without. If you don't agree with me, that's fine, I have no problem you spending your money on what you want, but it's not going to change my opinion on it.
L4D2 have 25 maps, L4D have 20, L4d2 have 20 weapons or 30, L4D had like 5 and the rest where use able. L4D2 have 3 new infected and might get a fourth one. So we are looking on double the amount of infected.
Expansions don't add more stuff than what the first game have.
Expansion are like Half-Life Opposing Force, Half-Life Blue Shift, Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, Warcraft 3 The Frozen throne and many more.
They all have one thing in common. None of them had a longer SP game or gave you more total in terms of maps, weapons and units. Most just gave you a few new things to play around with.
Yes I know they promised content but this was just too much for it to be a patch. Oh and TF2 have a total of 25 maps, but it started on 6 and like 3-4 are user made and L4D2 have a total of 25 new maps. Just to give you an idea on how much content it is. Then we have those 20 new weapons too. Unless that is 30 new.
It's a Sequel, get over it.
Try and rub it in my face all you want with lines like "get over it", but it doesn't change the fact they didn't finish the first game. So I'm not going to pay for their change of mind by paying 50 bucks for content that was meant for the first game. Left 4 Dead 1 wasn't finished, so you might as well call L4D1 a beta then.
This is how I feel, if you don't like my opinion I don't care. Left 4 Dead 2 is not what I want because I bought L4D with the notion of "Team Fortress 2 like support" expecting them to update it all the time with new levels or guns. But they didn't. So again, this is how I feel and if you feel fine with buying, then fine I don't care it doesn't make a difference to me. But I'm not buying it, so get over it, I'm not buying the game.
