It's not a sequel because all of the content you listed there was content they had promised and announced for Left 4 Dead 1 prior to it's release, but it has not come out, and will not come out. They insisted they wanted to do Team Fortress 2 like support, and they have not so I can't consider it a sequel. I don't want to hear "Well you can't see the future, so how do you know support will end" because they're already moving on to a sequel with improved graphics, AI and such and the content is already put in another game. They promised content and didn't follow through, and instead are releasing a $50.00 expansion pack.

Promised content:

I'm not buying it, I don't expect Valve to release L4D2 for free, I don't want them to release it for free, but I'm not buying what they called "Team Fortress 2 like support" for 50 bucks. I have other games on my list that aren't the extras that were meant for another game.

You can buy what you want, I was stating what I felt, and I feel that Left 4 Dead 2 is a $50.00 expansion pack that I can do without. If you don't agree with me, that's fine, I have no problem you spending your money on what you want, but it's not going to change my opinion on it.
That kind of reasoning is wrong.

L4D2 have 25 maps, L4D have 20, L4d2 have 20 weapons or 30, L4D had like 5 and the rest where use able. L4D2 have 3 new infected and might get a fourth one. So we are looking on double the amount of infected.

Expansions don't add more stuff than what the first game have.

Expansion are like Half-Life Opposing Force, Half-Life Blue Shift, Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, Warcraft 3 The Frozen throne and many more.

They all have one thing in common. None of them had a longer SP game or gave you more total in terms of maps, weapons and units. Most just gave you a few new things to play around with.

Yes I know they promised content but this was just too much for it to be a patch. Oh and TF2 have a total of 25 maps, but it started on 6 and like 3-4 are user made and L4D2 have a total of 25 new maps. Just to give you an idea on how much content it is. Then we have those 20 new weapons too. Unless that is 30 new.

It's a Sequel, get over it.
You can tack a number on the back of anything and call it a sequel.

Try and rub it in my face all you want with lines like "get over it", but it doesn't change the fact they didn't finish the first game. So I'm not going to pay for their change of mind by paying 50 bucks for content that was meant for the first game. Left 4 Dead 1 wasn't finished, so you might as well call L4D1 a beta then.

This is how I feel, if you don't like my opinion I don't care. Left 4 Dead 2 is not what I want because I bought L4D with the notion of "Team Fortress 2 like support" expecting them to update it all the time with new levels or guns. But they didn't. So again, this is how I feel and if you feel fine with buying, then fine I don't care it doesn't make a difference to me. But I'm not buying it, so get over it, I'm not buying the game.

Nope, it looks way to similar to L4D. I don't see a point in paying full price again to get a couple new weapons, maps and special infected. But for everyone else who is getting it, I hope it's everything you want and more.

How is valve going to release L4D 2 as an update? with most of valves updates for games they want to make them free they were lucky to get the survival pack out for free with mircosoft on their backs. L4D2 looks like an awesome game and most likely better than the original so i think the game title deserves to get a proper retail release. Also how is valve going to make money if they arent releasing any new games? of course there would always be some profit but without new games being made it would always be minimal. All game companies are in it to make money.

Its not an expansion pack. Thats like saying every sequel ever made is an expansion pack which is a giant unfounded stereotype.

Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Even tho I was a bit pissed about the whole. Wtf like no dlc and allready another game with the same mechanics and graphics?!(Atleast people told me so)
But I can't really complain since I'm gonna buy it no matter what. I love me some good ol' Valve :3

How is the game racist? would you have rather of seen a city full of white zombies? I would think that would be incredibly racist. Including all races into the mix of people shows that we all live in one world which we do. This game is by no means racist, killing zombie from one race is no different from killing one from another people that think that is really have to think hard about what they think is racism.

Valve is not ditching left 4 dead 1 they have said this in numerous interviews and will the content that is to be seen in the new game was not announced for L4D1 never. Valve did say they would release numerous updates which they are doing with the new campaign DLC. Also it is not an expansion, but if you don't want anything to do with the game don't buy it I rather play with different people on multiplayer.

Will they release skins of the old characters for the sequel? Cause that would be kind of fun, if out of place though.

Hell yeah I'm gettin' it! Left 4 dead has a special place in my heart being the first online fps I got for my pc (I now play a fair bit of pc games, before I mainly played console games, but I still do) and it was where I met three good friends on steam who I now frequently play with. Left 4 dead was a great game but I feel there were alot of things they could have done better. And with all the research I've been doing for it I reckon it will fill those niches like woooooooooood putty.

I liked L4D, but I'm not sold. L4D was presented with too little content, and while the AI Director was good and VS was fun, it just didn't last me too long. I was even playing competatively for the first part of the year, but after Feburary I got bored of it.

Therefore I'm not going to buy it until enough people that have it tell me that it'll last me a fair time, or it's of extremely good quality.

Not excited, will probably get it still but not even slightly excited by it's existence. Quite simple it stands as a testimony that Valve is willing abandon it's promise to support and expand on a popular game. All cause it can make more money out of creating a sequel that will play more or less the exact same way. A sequel that will bring content that really should of been an expansion.

Hell I still can't play L4D at the moment thanks to that broken game finding system. Yet even that is on the back burner so they can re-release the game concept as a sequel and make more money off it. I kid you not, it is a blue moon if any of my queries for games return anything more then a 'no server found.'
