Left 4 Dead is indeed a pretty cool game that doesn't require much to make it better. Having AI throw grenades and having a chance to be turned on death are good suggestions, although each carries with it a bit of a design challenge. (AI throwing grenades: what about AIs tossing molotovs and killing you? Characters getting turned: Boring for players whose characters are turned and are waiting around to respawn -- granted, if this was added, they must have thought of a way around it.)

My own suggestion for Left 4 Dead: Allow the director to send in more than one of the same kind of special Infected during Campaign games. Right now, you'll always encounter a maximum of one Smoker, one Boomer, and one Hunter at a time. Never two or three of a single one. (Note, I said campaign game - versus mode games this already happens. Also note I'm not recommending two or more tanks be sent in at once... not unless they add a "sadistic" difficulty mode.)

The main reason why this would be an interesting addition is that it adds a bit more randomness, and I think we'll all agree, flexibility to the randomness of how each game turns out is one of the coolest features of Left 4 Dead.

I'd also add a few more special zombie types, screamers for example, that looks like regular ones but if shot starts screaming like crazy, calling in a lot more zombies to their location.
they thought about doing this. the screamer would waer a staight-jacket and would run and hide in a corner when shot and then start screaming but the got rid of the idea and gave the ability to atract zombies to the Boomer
Yes... I know... That's kind of why I used the same role and the same name for it... Even if the boomer had the "same" ability, I think it'd be nice. The Boomer more focuses the zombies. If you had a screamer it could act as a diversion, it runs away and attracts a horde that the other zombies can hide behind, so the boomer can get close and vomit up a player, so the horde focuses on that one, or something. It'd add more of a strategic layer to the zombie players to have more crowd-control abilities. Perhaps allow hunters to goad individual zombies too, by hitting the ones standing around to make them attack or something.

It needs to be more politically correct! Am I the only one who noticed that all the nurses are women? And that all the police officers are men? And that all of them are white?

That's sexist! Racist! Discrimination! SRSLY!

I'm against the special skills, like someone being better at sniping. The game is perfectly good without them.

Damn, I should start writing "/jk" after my silly posts so that there'd be less misunderstandings.

Unless you meant that the joke was stupid. Well, that's a matter of opinion. Though I do agree that it was a bit stupid.

Simple for me. More Campaigns and MORE ZOMBIES!!! I'd love to see 1,000 zombies or so per chapter, so something like 5,000 zombies per campaign :)
You can set that in the dev. console.
I wish I could...I'm playing it on the 360...
a good rule of thumb is allways get valve games for the PC

Why make another? Just stay with their one, and not pull another "We had a good first game, BUT lets make MORE!" Sigh.

That's what I've heard, although, I don't have the PC or time to invest in PC gaming. My golden days of gaming are behind me, so I really only jump on the 360 once or twice a week...

Dude, what difficulty are you playing on? I got smoked off a ledge far away from my team-mates, just as I got vomited on by a Boomer, and just as we had got into a new, large area so there were many infected wandering about to be attracted by the vomit. And, at the final defence on that campaign, we got to the boat but Francis was brought down by a tank. I went to go and rescue him and two more came.

Expert.

That's within what I'm describing. Now, if you had been vomited on by two boomers, that would be different. However, under current campaign settings, you'll usually only see one boomer, one hunter, one smoker, and (possibly) one tank at a time.

Note the use of the word "and." This means you might encounter up to four special infected at a time, and they'll all be a different kind. What I'm suggesting is that they make it so same kind infected can make up that four (with the exception of the Tank).

I'm not considering normal infected. As far as I can tell, there's no real limit on them (but of course there must be some limit otherwise the game would slow to a crawl).
And, at the final [defense] on that campaign, we got to the boat but Francis was brought down by a tank. I went to go and rescue him and two more came.
The final rescue is a special exception. You're basically flooded with bad guys and have to get out of there ASAP. For the other 99.5% of the campaign, however, you're back to the previously mentioned limit.

I'd be happy if they just added some kind of story instead of this movie thing. If they had more cutscenes besides the opening one (Which was great) and a story progression then it would make the game so much better for me. Also, I agree, since I bought it for the 360 I want more maps and the addition of real bosses would be awesome, Also more weapons if they can think of some good ones. And finally, it would be great if they could have different objectives besides traveling from point a to point b.
no offense but when buying Valve game i recommend getting them on PC. the customer service and updates are better. they can be modded and the multiplayer community is a lot better.
Yea, I know. This is the first Valve game that I bought for a console. I did it because I had more friends to play with on the 360 then I did on the PC and that seemed important enough in this game to justify not getting mods, I'm starting to second guess myself.

humm... what I would like to see... well, for one, I would like to second (Or third) more character models. (Which can easily be made as user made media) another thing I would like to see would be a few more boss type zombies. here are a few examples.

Spitter: looks like your average crawler(Reg zomb) but has the added ability of a ranged attack. When you play as it it takes about a second to spit again.(This type could be considered a part of the crawler group instead of a boss zombie though, they are quite weak...)

Screamer(Or banshee): NOT like the original screamer, which later was incorperated into the boomer, this one's scream can incapacitate you if you are close enough. a bit beyond melee range, but not to far beyond that... something like the in-game equivalant of 2-3 meters distance. what it does is basically knock you down for a second.
When playing as it, if you get in range the target turns red.(Like the smoker's when you have a survivor locked) the recharge for the scream is about ten seconds or so)
The survivor does get up on their own after a while, so it is basically a small stun that when used in conjunction with other zombies can really tear someone apart; but if used alone, will result in pretty much nothing special. It affects only one person at a time though, so the rest of the survivors can protect the downed member as they regain footing.
I know it needs work, but this is basically just a jam session. I am just throwing ideas at the wall.

But imagine this, you are walking through a street section of No Mercy, and suddenly one of your characters goes down, due to a screamer that you had missed. while you are taking care of the screamer, a boomer comes out and biles one of your other chars, leading a hoard of crawlers and spitters to you. It would actually be a pretty cool mechanic.

some type of zombie that basically suicide bombs or something? nah, to Haolesque...
huh... other then that, I would like to see more levels, a few defense missions that you can actually set up barricades and the like, and maybe a few more weapons. melee would be a plus, but unless the pistol stopped having infinite ammo, not truly necissary.

so... lets see what you all have in mind, maybe you can fix a few things I overlooked in my ramblings, or come up with something entirely new.

As for ideas for a sequel...Try different ideas other then "run from point A to point B" I'm sure its pretty easy to do something like that with L4D right now in new content, but as it is...I don't really think I'll be too interested in a sequel.
They found that too nonlinear an experience made for too unfun a game.

Well think of it like this: most games start off as SeriesX 1, and then going up by 1. However, the game is called Left 4 Dead, so they should go up by 4. The second one would be They 8 Brains and the third (hopefully last, if it comes to this) would be called 12 Days of Death, or something along that line.
