I'd hope that you'd go long enough that it would, more or less, be out of your system. My brother says he'd give up something more as a test of his willpower. I think you'd be alright to indulge after that, if that's all you were doing it for.

I myself am Christian (I know, a minority on the Escapist, but I really don't care. This is the first time I've said this in the forums, though.). However, it's been years since I gave up anything for lent. Usually when I give up something, it's something that would benefit me if I got it out of my system. This thread is making me consider giving up soda. I would probably lose a LOT of weight if I gave that up, considering I drink soda pretty much every day of the week.

im giving up booze this year, its probably going to be a hard one (i gave up fags last month and that was a *****)and I have given up masturbation twice (failed both times).

just wondering if anyone knew that sundays dont count as lent?
