I'm not a big fan of video Let's Plays, and even if I was, I don't have the equipment to do so. Don't get me wrong, there's some really good video Let's Plays, but I don't think that I would be very good at it.yuval152 said:Why don't you just do a playthrough on youtube?and can someone explain to me the "Let's play' threads?

I can't really succinctly describe what a Let's Play is, so here's a link:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LetsPlay?from=Main.ptitle8zx0nomxzqc5
Basically, it's a playthrough of game with commentary. It can come in many forms, be it video, screenshot or text-only.
Their safehouse [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Follower%27s_Safehouse] had some good stuff in it. Not the best loot from safehouses in the game, but useful in its own right.CM156 said:I will say this about the Followers: I wish I got a better reward from being super friends with them. Perahps I missed something, but all I got was a Lab Coat that improves science and/or medicine, which I had maxed. Oh well. They can't exactally give you a gun
It's less common, but there are some really good ones out there. Plenty of great ones on the LP Archive, for instance.yuval152 said:I know what a LP is,but i never knew people do LPs on screenshots.
Viking Incognito said:[HEADING=1]Lessons with Head Scribe Viking[/HEADING]A lot of things that people in the wasteland do may seem evil or unjustified among other things. In FO3 we see Charon murder his previous employer in cold blood for reasons that are never adequately explained,in New Vegas we see a Great Khan survivor of the Bitter Springs massacre ruthlessly killing refugees and soldiers that had nothing to due with the indecent. Some people might see things like this and say, "Well, the wasteland has driven them crazy and they no longer value human life" or something else like that. But lets think about this: what options do wastelanders have? No cops, no judges, no laws in the first place. Even the NCR takes virtually no interest in helping anyone who isn't a citizen or soldier find justice, and honestly, if you aren't part of the Legion, they would laugh their asses off while they kill you for being so stupid as to ask them to help some random profligate. So, what option do they have besides taking things into their own hands? And unfortunately, when prison isn't an option, and you live in a world where you have to kill to survive, what else would you expect people to do?the wasteland is basically a dead on match for John Locke's "State of Nature". Now, I'm not going to recite 4 pages of Old-English social philosophy, but I'll give you the gist: When people aren't cooperating to form a civilized community with common morals and goals, they are in a "State of Nature" in a state of nature, every man and woman can choose to live and act however they want, stealing, killing, raping, or not doing any of those things, and they keep living like that until someone or some thing stops them. State of Nature is the opposite of civilization, and that is how the people of the Wastes live. So, if you were born in a state of nature like the Fallout Wastelands, how would you act?
Sorry for that ended on a kind of dark note. If you have a more light hearted suggestion, feel free to tell me.

How about you talk about bioligy and mutations in the wasteland, and how insects have gotten a bigger role?

Ok then. How about a post on the topic of religion and how it changed after the great war?

Ok then. How about a post on the topic of religion and how it changed after the great war?The comments about there being so many cults actually had me thinking about that. I'll see.
If you plan on doing religion, remember to not leave out Honest Hearts and all of the stuff in there!Viking Incognito said:The comments about there being so many cults actually had me thinking about that. I'll see.
Daniel on the Sorrows thinking God and "Father in the caves" are one in the same: "They probably think that Mary is the mother and Jesus is the child."ChupathingyX said:If you plan on doing religion, remember to not leave out Honest Hearts and all of the stuff in there!Viking Incognito said:The comments about there being so many cults actually had me thinking about that. Hehe, yeah. I liked Daniel and Joshua and how they showed two different approaches to religion.DustyDrB said:Daniel on the Sorrows thinking God and "Father in the caves" are one in the same: "They probably think that Mary is the mother and Jesus is the child."
I got the jab. I'm a Christian and even I had to laugh.
You're dead on. Both mean represented different sides: Justice and Wrath for Joshua, Peace and self-sacrifice for Daniel. Both men also showed a willingness to compromise to some extent: Joshua shows it at the end and Daniel says he'll shoot any White Leg that comes into the Sorrow's camp. And both men's path weakens them in some way. Daniel is naive and is likely to allow himself to be trampled on, or he'll just get himself killed. Joshua escalates things far too much, to the point that the tribes become war-like and merciless under his guidance.ChupathingyX said:Hehe, yeah. Daniel wanted to use religion as a way of living in peace.
Joshu wanted to use it as a justification for war and redemption.
Although, I haven't played HH in a while so I could be wrong, I should go play it again, HH seemed like the only DLC that could be played at any level..
I'm the opposite and only ever really seen LPs like this one before being pointed to the LP archive. Prefer them as well as I dont normally have the time to sit through a video. For good screenshot ones, I definitely recommend Neverwinter Nights 2 [http://lparchive.org/Neverwinter-Nights-2/], its sequal [http://lparchive.org/Neverwinter-Nights-2-Mask-of-the-Betrayer/] and this one for KOTOR II [http://lparchive.org/Knights-of-the-Old-Republic-II/]/ All three give a nice rundown of the game as well as a lot of extra information about things that were cut.yuval152 said:I know what a LP is,but i never knew people do LPs on screenshots.

Well in that case, maybe you should hold off doing a "lesson" on religion in Fallout until you have played it; religion is basically the main focus of Honest Hearts.Viking Incognito said:ah, yes...well...ummm...uuuhhh...I haven't...actually...player any NV DLC.
