Hang on you dont find sex more relaxing than gaming? Seriously? I love my games I really do, but sex wth the gf is waaaaaaaayyy better than any gaming session? That said ill roll over and play Xbox after post sex cuddles but if it came down to having to choose between the two, I would have to give up gaming.rompsku said:I'll get straight to the point:
How does sex influence your life as a gamer. And by sex, I mean the lack of it, the excess of it or the simple thought of it.
No need to go into detail about your sexual exploits. Just would like to have a general consensus on how my fellow Escapists view the necessity of sex as a part of their lives.
Discuss.
EDIT: READ THIS POST PLEASE! The topic question is: How does (lack of, excess of or thought of) sex influence your life as a GAMER.
Good lord, does nobody read the OP anymore?
I'll help you guys along. I used to game a lot! about 20+ hours a week. Then my girlfriend moved in with me and we started having sex quiet often. But this has caused my average gaming time to drop down to about 5-6 hours a week. Sex has cut into my game time! And it really starting to suck. Gaming is my form of escapism and the lack of gaming has started to lead to more stress and even depression in me.
How has sex affected your gaming lifestyle?
I wasn't asking how gaming effected your sex life, rather, how your sex life affected your gaming. I have lots of sex and have been playing less game which as resulted in more stress because my method of stress relief (gaming) has been cut down.Wutaiflea said:This is an utterly bizarre question.
I suppose gaming has impacted on my sex life, in as much that if my husband and I are up late playing something in particular, we might feel less inclined to have sex when we go to bed because we're tired, but I just don't understand what you hope to learn from the answers.
It's like asking if being overweight impacts on your gaming life because you spend more of your time eating than healthy people, or if having to sleep interferes with your gaming session.
Sex is not relaxing. Not in the least! It's like a freaking 1 hour full body work out. And that's why i love it. I love sex, I really really do. but having it in excess is not that great.Epitome said:Hang on you dont find sex more relaxing than gaming? Seriously? i would say the same but that would make me sound like a slut lmaoSnork Maiden said:Sex is dead good. I love it. Any kind, anywhere![]()

No!! NO no no. Sex doesn't depress me. Excess of sex leading to decrease in gaming leading to increasing in stress leads to slight depression.ma55ter_fett said:Sex has caused you to be depressed OP?
Damn, wish I had your problem.
That's bull poop! Chicks enjoy sex just as much as guys, maybe even more so considering their gift of multiple orgasms and super sensitivity. Why does that have to make them sluts. As long as they're a one guy kind of lady, I say enjoy it as much as you can.emwhite123 said:i would say the same but that would make me sound like a slut lmaoSnork Maiden said:Sex is dead good. I hate to be the guy that says "you're doing it wrong", but if sex isn't relaxing you maybe you should take a second look at how you're approaching it?rompsku said:Ok, Seriously. For the past 4 months, on average, I've been having sex about 2 hours a day. That's a rough average. That includes a good amount of foreplay, actual sex and cuddling afterwards. That's about 14 hours a week spent in the proverbial sack.
I have a 9 hour very stressful day job, I do freelance work after hours and have band practice 6 hours a week. Free time is a very precious and rare commodity for me.
And yes, I have been depressed lately. not suicidal or in need of medication or therapy or anything. I usually feel much better as soon as I see my girlfriend or play with my cats or read the escapist. But I never had this much stress or depression while I had my regular 20+ hours of gaming a week. Games are my stress relief.
And you definitely CAN have too much sex. A year ago I would never even dreaming of saying that, but now I can say with out a doubt, i wouldn't mind a day or 3 without sex or with my girlfriend around at all. Just me and my Playstation.
Well that's conjecture or as I like to say; "same shit, different smell". It's not like your digital avatar in the game is going to go anywhere.JoshGod said:not same as pause im afraid.Skarin said:[/quit]JoshGod said:demon's soulsSkarin said:Eitherway, games can be paused. Sex can't.

To each his own I guess. Multitasking has never been my strong point.Mozza444 said:Haha love itSkarin said:Nah, I play enough Quick Time Event games anyway!.Mozza444 said:I have, you should try it.Skarin said:Eitherway, games can be paused. Sex can't. Never planned on combining the two though...

What I said works for the reverse scenario as well. I just don't see why you'd ask the question- I think most people would consider their sex life and personal relationships more important than how many hours they spend gaming.

So... assuming your gaming has dropped by a minimum of 14 hours and no other factors have changed I presume you are getting 14 hours of sex a week.rompsku said:I used to game a lot! about 20+ hours a week. Sex can be plenty relaxing, and need to be exhausting in order to be amazing. Even if you don't believe that, people often work out to burn off stress, so I don't really think the physical exertion is the issue here. Once again, you might want to take a second look at how you're approaching it.rompsku said:How is sex relaxing?
If you're referring to the euphoric state achieved by reaching orgasm, then yes, it does leave a certain mental relaxation once you're done.
Perhaps my partner and I are just too enthusiastic, but after sex, I feel everything but relaxed. I'm tired, sweating, breathing heavily, my muscles start to cool down and ache and usually have to sit back and take deep breathes else I start getting loss of blood to my head and risk blacking out (I have low blood pressure).
I love sex, I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right. I just don't consider the physical act of intercourse to be relaxing. It's very tiring actually. Sitting on my ass in my comfy sofa with a soda and Doritos playing Audiosurf. now THAT is relaxation.
minky said:Dude if you weren't a bulls****er you would do the sensible thing and talk to your girlfriend about it... rather than coming on here moaning about your excessive sex issues. Ever tried a quickie? If you love each other that much surely some experimentation wouldn't be out of the question. And doesn't she have any hobbies either?
To answer your (rather dumb) question, most people find it easy to balance sex and work and play and all that. Sex with my b/f doesn't affect gaming any more than the rest of my life does.
Also, it's natural to be kind of clingy at the beginning of a relationship, but her demanding this much attention from you on a daily basis really hints that perhaps she has some issues that need resolving. You really ought to talk.
