Don't eat yellow snow

Don't tie your shoe laces in revolving doors

Don't pee into the wind

and most importantly

Don't feed the trolls

From my life:

Don't shave your pubic region unless your okay with looking and feeling like you have a sexual illness for a week and a half.
You are most likely doing something wrong, or have some weird reaction to shaving

Don't build your own computer. Because it might not boot up at all, and you won't know what of that 700 euro bulk of equipment you just bought is actually causing the problem, and there's pretty much fuck all you can do about it.

You know, not like anything like that happened to me yesterday or anything.
No, just learn how to do it. Building your own computer is very rewarding

All things in moderation. Dont do things to other people you dont want done to yourself. I am not even a devout Christian and I think that phrase should be taken to heart. The entire Bible could be scrapped save for that 1 line. You dont even have to believe in God or an afterlife. If you do something to someone then it's only fair for that person to do the same thing perhaps to you. If your response is "life isnt fair", then if that action is also unfair and it gets turned around on you, then there you have it. Life is being unfair to you because you are ok with making life a little bit MORE unfair.

Actually the Wiccan Reed, goes a bit further. I will paraphrase. Do whatever you want, UNLESS you know your actions are directly harming someone else. You can hurt other people in self defense, but that is it. I actually came up with a simular morality before I ever heard "Do as thou wilt and harm ye none." It went something like "There is no such thing as right and wrong as long as no one gets hurt."
I'm going to do crack in moderation.

What you ment to say was "Don't build your own computer if you don't know what you are doing."

I built mine, works like a charm. Lots of my friends built their own too, no problems like that.

From a teacher: Never drink to alter your mood

From my dad: Enjoy the little things in life... like taking a good shit

As for my life tip. Do something different. Try a new food, listen to a different kind of genre, go to new places, talk to different people. Life is too long to do the same thing over and over again.

If things were different then things would be different. (ie never regret, just learn from your mistakes, don't dwell on the past and simply move on)

When someone says something you disagree with then "take what you want, and leave the rest". There will always be people who go against the very core of all that you believe and know. Don't try to change them, just let things be.

No one is perfect, therefore try to always improve yourself and do not force your idea of "improvement" on others.

As we hopefully all know.... advice unsought is advice unwanted.

"Have the power to change the things you cannot endure, and have the power to endure the things you cannot change."

I will add more if I think of any, and this isn't really a life lesson, but I will add it anyways. It is but one small piece of "On Pain" from his most famous work "The Prophet". I do paraphrase a bit.

"Pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your own sick self, so therefore trust the physician and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility." - Khalil Gibran

You can find a full collection of his works online, at the library or just about anywhere. He writes on all aspects of life from work to rest, from love to pain. His works have helped me understand many things in life about myself and others. Most importantly they have been invaluable in coping, and understanding with my moms recent suicide.

This one reminded me: Read books. Everyone takes a dump and that would be the ideal place to sit back and get into a book.

Always remember that life doesn't mean shit. Everything you ever do, everything you ever "achieve" wont change the fact that you get a few years and then you die. So just do what makes you happy and fuck whatever society thinks about that.

I have an entire group of people from my schools computer service class, myself included, who have or had self made computers, which work fine. You just need to know what parts are and arn't compatible with what parts

At least once every year it's not only okay but actually recommended that you do something really crazy and really stupid.

And it helps if you know basic troubleshooting methods and have some swapout parts in case of DOA components. If you dont know what you're doing DOA components can make an easy job into a nightmare.

This, obviously, is if you don't know someone that's good at it.

the question of life is why? the answer is why not!
