In fact, I think I'd rather see ZUN make fanservice characters to himself because he'd rather play as girl happen a lot, than to gaming dominated by dudes. Having an adoration of cuteness or female character or even magical girls is not a bad thing. And "magical girls" are primarily made as a genre for a girl audience. Most magical girl stuff is considered in the "shoujo" genre.

There's nothing to be berated about Touhou's all female cast. It certainly isn't any worse than Team Fortress 2's all male cast.

I don't see how my internet experience plays a part in you disliking the absolute good of anime. From the forums of CSPAN to the dredges of 4chan I've yet to hear of someone disliking anime.

Are we really doing this? The title made me smile, but I didn't expect the massive post count that I saw. I didn't really expect the general awareness of Touhou on the Escapist to go up very significantly since I asked a few years ago, and it seems like they really don't care. Nice of you to try, but maybe a bit heavy-handed. "A" for effort though, Lilith.

We're in a thread on the religion of Touhou, if that doesn't warrant some non-serious posts I don't know what does. While I am a huge fan of anime myself I can totally understand why some dislike it, just personal taste.

That doesn't mean I can't poke fun at someone who doesn't like something simply because it looks like anime, due to it's varied nature thats like saying "eew that looks like something an American made".

And....this is what lilith should be doing. Create a little post, just a couple of paragraphs long, a bit tongue in cheek to start and end with a clear and SHORT description of the game. If people want more they can have more explained to them and your tongue in cheekness has explained to everyone that disliking something is not a big deal.

Oh man this type of thread brings me way back, it reminds me of when i didn't just KNOW every game series that's out there. Ah oh well, back on topic, Touhou's a pretty fun series if your capable of playing bullet hells (not everyone is), my opinion game play is good (8 in particular is beastly) stage art is good and character art is bad (and i like anime so i can only assume that to someone who doesn't its like stabbing your eyes with shards of broken glass). Then again the guy who makes these games is a drunk with poor hand control so i guess that explains it.
