Final Fantasy XII. 90+ hours into it and I still haven't finished

Fallout 3 for sure.

Also Just Cause 2. Story was very short but getting everything else done takes a really long time. Currently at about 65 hours and 63% complete. I doubt I'll ever get to 100%.

I guess this may apply for World of Warcraft. If your definition of "beating the game" is killing the final boss of the final raid dungeon, then yes. Thousands of hours logged per expansion.

Probably FF7. Ive played it till Ive bred a Golden Chocobo (without any guides, so yeah, it took a bit) used it to get Knights of the Round, and then killed all weapons.

The game I've spent the most time playing, ever? Either Morrowind or Alpha Centauri.

Single player game?... Oblivion took me around 900 hours to beat.. I got side tracked a LOT..

MMO game?... Guild wars... Have about 6000 hours total playtime.. Broke that addiction last year with the excuse , "I dont wanna burn myself out before GW2 comes out!"...

On fire Emblem Radiant Dawn I have 120 hours clocked, but if you figure that you have to replay every level at least 10 times to make sure none of your characters die, it must be around 500 hours.

Edit: Oh, if were counting MMos I have roughly 200 days on all of my characters.

I've sunk over 30 hours into Mass Effect 2 [discounting bits that I had to repeat because I forgot to save] and I think I'm approaching the endgame now.

But seeing the 100+ hours people are dedicating to games here, that's small fry. Never thought I'd say this, but get a life =P

Oblivion and Fallout 3 I spent 100+ hours on but thats pretty much standard for anyone who enjoys those two games

Other then those two I spent 90+ hours before I actually beat Persona 3

Mount and Blade though you can't technically beat it, you can get lost for HOURS just wandering and fighting the occasional passerby.

I have spent ( read: wasted ) around 6500 hours in EVE Online and there is still so much to learn, silly spreadsheets online

Excluding MMOs, maybe X-COM ( the first two, not the oversimplified abortions that followed ), me and my brother used to play it for years.

I love how people confuse the question "what gave have you spent most time doing mundane shit on" with "longest game". Bethesda games are not long because you run around killing random highwaymen for a couple of days.

Haha I will agree... Bethesda games seem to do anything and everything to keep you away from the main story.. Once you complete the secondary stuff it is up to you to have fun.. In oblivion I had this sudden urge to explore every cave I could find.. Once I did that I just started dicking around and killing people I passed on the road.
